Wine.

Pulled this out of the wine room earlier, definitely having a cigar after dinner as well

The Ribera del Duero is Portuguese... best thing about Portuguese wine is that it's almost all really good indeed and I get mixed cases shipped over at pretty much the price you'd pay there. Including a couple of bottles of easy quaffing port and some good plonks of all colours, still and sparkling, and all for less than £100. If you just want the plonk then don't pay more than €5 a bottle and your tastebuds will be happy.

The Coteaux du Layon is a sweet white from an area not far to the west of saumur. €3.50 a bottle from the vineyard!

Erm, I think you’ll find “Ribera Del Douro” is Spanish..

I believe you’re mixing up the above with the “Douro” valley in Portugal..

Have to love the SM forum. We have a wine and smoking thread running alongside a weight loss and fitness one. I know which camp I’d rather be in!

indeed... variety is the spice of life, after all!

For example, I did a 33 mile bike ride today and am now drinking a very smooth Napa Cabernet Sauvignon - was fabulous with a Sunday dinner of Roast Beef & Yorkshire Puddings!

That looks a lovely set up but doesn’t the Tv need to be higher....think that would drive me nuts.
No it’s a perfect viewing angle. That’s the mistake most people make.. they hang their tv over a fireplace and have to crank their neck looking upwards. You’ll notice the tv is also slightly angled backwards, that also assists with the perfect viewing angle :)

In a deliberate expression of my love for all things European, this is tonight’s experiment with consuming my inheritance...

I’ve just decanted it and the first sip was promising...
