Curious here as I'm feeling like a variety of garage based exercises may be good. Is there any fundamental difference between the Tacx (?) that you competent cyclists are using and a gym type static (or even recumbent) bike?
Anyone suggest some weights?
Cheers

Effectively a Tacx is a 'smart trainer' and used with Zwift can be used to replicate the terrain on the course you are riding.
For example if you are doing the Ride London course, and get to Leith Hill there is a 15% incline and the bike will replicate the effort needed to go up said hill, and also the same coming down, and of course at various inclines and er declines... around the course.
Whereas a static bike will mean you just pedal depending on the resistance input.

I’ve been a bad man today, got super cold on site this morning and when I went to get some materials about 1pm I bought not on but two hot sausages in Tesco!!! God they went down well though! At least I avoided the pies....
Regarding weights, these Powerblock thingies are great.
I have a pair of those as well, and think they are ideal for a home gym.
My exercise session tonight was a home made circuits / intervals session.
10 mins spin bike warm-up
4 Circuits of:
10 goblet squats (16kg kettlebell)
10 sit-ups (Bosu)
10 incline row
10 tricep dips (off bench)
10 press ups
10 bicep curl to shoulder press (powerblocks)
Followed by 4 Skierg intervals. 500m, 1 min recovery
Target pace 2:05-2:10 for all 4
Felt like a decent effort, but I probably should have done the Skierg first rather than last, as I was officially pooped!
Nice. Those powerblocks are nice but *how much*!

After all that, Jon, you realise that I'll be expecting some kind of Dwayne Johnson physique at the driving day in May?
Hhhmmm - I wonder whether there’s a different bloke called Dwayne Johnson who’s much shorter and much fatter than the Rock? There must be one somewhere, right..
However, on the plus side, still no booze consumed in the last 18 days.
