It's certainly spring
Had an excellent day - woke to bright sunshine and the lambs making suitable rural sounds in the field behind the house.
Went to Audi Huntingdon to drive a 2010 S3 that Susie had her eye on. Already sold. ****.
So, we test-drove and bought a 'new' 300 bhp Audi S3 quattro with S-tronic and just 30 miles on the clock, and pretty much every option fitted. Clearly had been pre-registered to make dealership numbers etc. Estoril Blue, btw, and to be delivered at 10am Monday morning.
Had lunch in The Abbott's Elm, a truly superb country pub just a couple of miles from the dealership, just off the A14, mostly to allow Susie to calm down with the aid of a glass of wine. It didn't work, and she's still high as a kite about it.
Drove her 'soon to be px'd Cayenne S' back to the house, and emptied it of all the crud/phone stuff etc.
Watched England beat Ireland.
Now waiting for the leg of lamb to cook - the delicious smell of roasting with garlic and rosemary is escaping the kitchen.
...and she's still giddy. Luckily I shall be at work when they deliver it to her, so safely 120 miles away from the happy noises.
On the negative side, it's apparently slightly faster 0-60 than my QP. We will have to fix that...
On the whole though, I've had worse days
