So wiper mechanism cleaned and working perfect , pollen filter cleared out and all the leafs under the scuttle gone , a couple of stone chips tackled and wheel bolts change over from a spare set Crissbarrett kindly lent me so mine will be going off for replating . Umm what's next ?

Half way there, Spyder clean (ish). Q4 levels checked and restarted. SZ tyres pumped up, levels checked and restarted.

Might wash the SZ this afternoon as she is looking a bit unloved and then maybe get a picture of SZ and Spyder next to each other.

Roof is fine, was replaced last year after 22 years of all weather protection.

The poor Alfa is in need of some TLC, too many track days are starting to show on her paintwork. She was due a repaint this winter but I spent the money on the PSyder so she will have to wait until next winter. But considering she has been shut of in the garage for 3 months, a short charge to get enough juice in her battery to fire her up, a bit of air in her tyres and a quick wash she is now looking good again.

A quick blast down the road, note to self no flappy paddles, and I quickly remember why she is a keeper.

You could clay a whole car in less than an hour with a little practice, Adam.

Now that's becoming more tempting, MAF, good news - thanks. I've always believed it to be a back-breaking task best left to the experts. So all I need now is to get some clay. Any recommendations for something fairly fine? As I understand it the order of service is wash, dray, clay (well lubricated with water), wax - is that right?

Not back breaking at all. You use your finger tips to glide the clay over the lubricated bodywork, it's quite a gentle process. Go to Halfrauds and buy a Meguiars clay starter pack. It gives you the clay and quick detailer you can use for lubricant. Clay strips any wax off, so you must wax the car afterwards to keep the paintwork protected. I always put a coat or two of polish on after the clay and before the wax.
