Guys knowing a bit about how GETRDYs conversion occurred, is it possible the 430 clutch that was fitted was not a standard version ?

Ok but in Matts photo aren't we looking at a standard 430 pressure plate whereas GETRDYs ( with shorter tangs) is not a standard 430 pp and it's the pp we are interested in not the clutch plate.

Hi guys

yes my GS running F430 Pressure plate with Stadard GS Clutch plate.
I think its running smoother in the gear change.
If u want to run complete F430 clutch you can but u have to cut the nose in the back of the clutch.
In the F430 clutch got the nose in the back of the clutch, in GS is complete flat behind the clutch.
All the dimension and the bolt pattern exactly same between GS and F430.

Alvin, running the GS plate is not an issue as I can get them relined and resprung for £30 here in the UK.

Its wether we refurbish the GS cover with stronger tangs or simply go for the F430 one.

Where did you buy yours from?

I am now in talks with a clutch reburb company here in the UK to see if we can't sort this issue.

I feel that if we can refurbish the OEM clutch plate friction, and springs plus new friction ring and uprated tangs in the cover for a few hundred quid, this might be the way to go.

Matt
Agree with yr comments

The PP has been our main concern given the random instances of failure down here
Haveing a pp that is common to the gt3 trak car and the F430 road car suggests a robust component
Hence our interest

As i understand it Alvins replaced pp is a slightly used one X trak gt3 but he may elaborate

In all this "global forum development" is exiting

I'm still a bit confused. The photo Matt put up is supposed to be an F430 pp but as he says looks different to GETRYDS and looks same as standard GS. My question really is whether GETRDYs is a standard F430 pp because like you I understood it came from a race car. I am thinking it's not standard F430

I'm not considering Matts pic. for the moment

Speaking with Alvin, he was certain (and had checked) that the parts numbers between the GT3 unit and road car were the same.

Following this thread with interest as there is a significant chance that my clutch will need to be changed when it arrives back from Le Mans. Don't fancy changing it for one with tangs that break easily.

Indeed, SM Guineapig you are.....can we have your old clutch mate, if your passing Bordon/Guildford on the way back from Emblem, any chance you can drop it to Wayne Orca or me in Chichester?

O.R.C.A LTD, Orca House, Petersfield Road, Whitehill, Bordon, England, GU35 9AR

Knowing you, you will have everything replaced so can we have all your old parts, flywheel, plate, cover, bearing and any other odds and sods.

Alternatively, if you don't need the car for a while, we can have the upgraded clutch fitted to your Spyder?

I have just heard from Marios that the F430 do have the same problem so an upgraded part is problaby the way to go....and a lot cheaper too.

Is he talking about the clutch plate or PP?

The fchat response -ok only 1 suggests clutches are an issue

Have u posted same in their f430 section?

Lol.....Hey Larry I appreciate the bump! I'm looking into this same issue now guys. Please give a read on the U.S. site. I'm trying to figure the way to go in this as well. I don't want the same Pressure Plate in the car if I have to change it. Did we ever figure that we can get a better one made/built or otherwise? Conaero, it looks like you might of had someone looking into this? I am weighing my options but please give a read in on the U.S. side to see if it sounds familiar.

Craig your issues sound similar to mine. My Spyder will select 1st & 2nd with no problem but it won't select reverse or 3rd. When you select reverse you can hear the pump and what sounds like the gear being selected but the car remains in neutral, No CEL lights or other warnings. I kept trying reverse and 3rd and it occasionally selects reverse but I can't get any higher gears.

I had to leave the car at Le Mans but it should be back into Emblem within the next few days and then hopefully they can find out what is the fault. I will post here what they find.
