Cruise Control

From memory the part is circa £75 and pretty easy to fit although you do need SD2 to enable the system...so I have been told.

It's also the same stalk that is on the Alfas, no surprise there then, so you could go for a salvage part but as its so cheap anyway, I would buy new only.

I have missed cruise in my Maserati. Use it even in long 30 stretches so I don't have to worry about slipping over. I'll be getting it fitted as soon as I can/is available. Really useful info on this. Thanks Chaps

That's helpful about the SD2. I wouldn't have thought about that

OK guys

I managed to find one at Bill McGrath's and its on its way to me.

Sorry but it is the last one they had.

Also tried Eurospares, Dealers (none available in the UK) and David Askews. Factory doesn't have any either.

There will be some in European dealers I'm told so maybe a call to a UK dealer and they might be able to help source one although it will cost.

Cheers

Mine cost about £120 delivered. No need for SD2, it's just plug in and play.

Right, that rules me out for having it done just now then :)

Glad they came up with the goods!

Well done. I might try Matt's advice re the Alfa GT. dont want to think what our local Maser dealer will quote but Ill wager its over aud equivalent of 200 quid I have never taken the steering wheel off so any instructions (or maybe photos as you fit?) would be greatly appreciated.

If some one can take a pic of their Cruise stalk, I'll check it against the one in my Alfa GT for you all.

This is what I have bought from Bill McGrath's:

http://classicmaseratis.co.uk/billmcgrath/new-maserati-parts/

From memory they look identical to what was on the GT and 166's I had a few years back.
If so you'll pay less than I did!

Cheers

Dave

Hum, not totally convinced, the GT has 3 stalks, where as this one has 2. I am not saying it does not work, but it is very different. Might be worth getting one from a scrappy and having a go.

Dave, when I look at the parts listing there is a bracket listed as securing cruise control bracket. Did Bill McGrath say you needed any other parts to fit the unit to your car?

No you dont. Having done the conversion myself, I can state that you need nothing more than the stalk. All the extra connectors are already on the car. You just have to plug in and play. You need nothing else. Nothing.
