It's a team game. What does it matter if he doesn't score again for the rest of his England career, if he pulls defenders out of position for others to score?

I still can't take your football comments seriously after you said the this current French team is better than the one which won the world cup in 1998.
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
They are, the game has changed massively since then.

The mid-60s Scotland team was amazing. Just a shame they were too ****** to actually qualify in 1966!!

Crikey, you have to go back over half a century to find a Scottish victory over the English :p:dance4::bart_simpson-226:

Sterling isn't a bad player but can be a bit annoying with his reluctance to pass sometimes, it seems he wants to score a wonder goal. I reckon it'll be the same team wednesday to keep the momentum going.

I wasn't looking for the time, merely the BEST time. The team of the 60s was amazing but we couldn't get it together to do anything about it. By the way, Gazza was playing for Rangers and I was living in London during Euro96. Rangers managed to get the best from him somehow and it was a privilege to see. He was amazing. Mental, but amazing.

Scotland beat us 1-0 at Wembley around 2000, World Cup qually playoff - we’d won 2-0 at Hampden though.

I was living in Scotland at the time and it was like they’d won the World Cup itself, despite losing on aggregate.

Scholes bagged two at Hampden...

My best mate is a Scotsman, I watched Euro ‘96 with him. He went crazy when they got a pen, which McAllister duly missed and then, his Rangers hero Gazza went down the other end, over Hendry’s head and the dentist’s chair, what a moment that was. He’s cheering for England this summer by the way.

Sorry guys.......but really, really hope you get well and truly humped. Yup, stereotype Scotland supporter dating from 74 campaign and never missed a tourney ( granted last was 98 :( ) or home game since but what irks me and most Scotland fans is some fans, the FA, TV and all commentators tendency to confuse being English with the same as being British - GSTQ as national anthem is the prime example, get one of your own for God sake and like rugger fans actually show some English pride!
I'll get my coat.........which fits nicely over my kIlt.......oh and bytheby, prediction of 3-1 for the Croats ;)

Bollo*. He looked good 'cos Scottish football is shi*e. I used to pour his pints when he was at Spurs and he was a fat **** then too.

but what irks me ... is .. tendency to confuse being English with the same as being British
Agreed but this is possibly more a case of how Johnny Foreigner views everything British as English.

Your lucky that Italy didn't qualify this time, as you lot would have been taking an early shower two weeks ago!
