Usually 5 bar when driving and 2.5 hot idle.Hi my oil gauge is reading 5 I believe it should be in the middle at 2 and a half, is this something to do with faulty Oil pressure sensor?
Any help much appreaciated!
It's a sender unit of the electronic type rather than capillary pressure going up to the guage on the dash.Hi Phil thanks for the reply
Yes it does go to 5 when started you said sender is that different from a sensor?
It's at the back of the engine in the middle of the V you can see it looking down at the back.Right So if i replace the sender it should cure the problem? I see one for sale at around £80
It can be done with the correct crows foot but it doesn't take long to remove the inlet manifold which gives plenty of room. Thanks Phil you have been a great help,Just one more question can you replaice/get at the sender from the back. or is it a more difficult job?
Same for virtually every job on these lolThe general consensus on the forum as to fitting ranges from tricky/difficult, to a real pain in the derrière
Engine stayed in place but I removed the exhaust manifolds and engine mounts to lift her up with my engine crane to give clearance underneath.Quite a saga Phil! Did you have the engine out when you did this?
Does that back plate have to come off so you can get at the water pump chain?
Welcome to the club of Maserati owners. Some like drama but I just enjoy the car. I love my Gransport Spyder and it is rare and its a pleasure to drive. It’s Ferrari heritage is there and you can feel it. Everyone craps on Maseratis but this vintage of cars, build under the leadership of Luca Di Montezemolo are quite special and they are fun. Fast car. I have had some minor issues but nothing that I would not have had in a BMW of the same vintage.
Enjoy the car and drive it with the top down every chance you get. That is the best stereo you can ever get.
