Neither had I ever done anything on a Maserati until I bought my first one and no fears than working on anything highly strung.
Oil and Coolant out and start taking it apart.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness and that's my rule with everything.
As it's not easy to get technical data for these cars like anything else I found independent specialists to be very helpful.
When my 4200 arrived in New Zealand I approached the only Dealer there in Auckland for some advice on getting the car registered they kindly offered that they could do it.
I mentioned it was my second one and that I'd put the pump in it and had also had a couple of Ferrari's and I was offered a position and working for them.
I'm sure your man will be fine.

Yes its not so much i am worried about his competence, no not at all Phil, I have known him for many years, and have always had him sort/service my cars.

Actually its more me that's fretting over the Car. i have had lots of cars supercharged sprites, 3 TRs including a TR5. Mercs, Audi's by the dozen, driving a S3 Audi at the moment.

No I just do not think any of my past cars have ingrained themselves like this one.

But then again years ago, I had just started my apprenticeship and the boss of the firm rolled up one day in Maserati 3500, taunting us 'The cars for sale boys want to buy it'

I made a mental note on that day, that one day I would have a Maserati.

When I used to go and watch local car racing, and also when I used to race a go cart, I can always remember the smell/perfume of Castrol R, I wonder if they still make that oil?

have just had an email from the garage I bought it from, car is on its way!
Salesman said in addition to paperwork there is a car cover and 4 new discs, Hmm
One thing i did notice from the photos was the car has the 'sticky buttons' problem will need to look into whats the best way to sort it.
Hi joered I fixed my sticky buttons by using a small amount of wd40 on a cotton cloth wiping each one and using the wife’s nail kit it had a trowel shaped tool in there to get the sides of the buttons underneath the stickyness the white ceramic buttons are still imprinted with the numbers and symbols took about 4 hours

Very impresive Keith,Trouble is trying to get my wifes nail kit, when I suggested it words such 'go fly a kite' were banded about!
On a more serious note Keith, on youtube there is a guy showing you how to dismantle the center consule and take the individual buttons out for cleaning.
It was interesting to note when you said the imprint is still on the buttons, as to their function I did not know that.
Its one of those jobs I will get round to. My cars away getting brakes sorted,i took the plastic trim thats around the engine bay (mine was a drab colour) and have sprayed it gold, It just looks a lot better in my opinion.

Very nice, I have bought the straight pipes to replace the centre muffler, was going to do this myself but realised being a fraction over 60 not that confident anymore so going to have a chat with local exhaust garage cross palms with cash hopefully

I had 5 liters of R40 and gave it to my son a couple of years ago for putting a drop in the fuel for his Rally Car for the smelling pleasure of spectators :)

A new mesh chrome front grill has just arrived from Germany, anyone fitted a grill? Any problems?
