Quite like Beefsteak myself. Can't really go wrong with Malbec. It's gone before you've had time to think "was it any good?"...!)

I'd have to call exception on that. 10 years ago Malbec was a great go to. Now 99+% is **** (IMHO). In fact I can't remember last time I had a good one. Not a fan of the Beefsteak either (as you might have surmised)
Picpoul is my current wine list pick (clearly not red) in that I don't recall a bad one for some years.
Tonight we have a Fronsac which is rather spiffing with a pie from our local gastropub which have shifted from dining to takeaway with an attitude that simply leaves me breathless.
Top it off they are offering a thee course Mother's Day takeaway menu for tomorrow. This is full on pate, 24 hour leg of lamb, roast beef, cod wit ratatouille etc etc.
C
