Quite like Beefsteak myself. Can't really go wrong with Malbec. It's gone before you've had time to think "was it any good?"...!)
Eb

I'd have to call exception on that. 10 years ago Malbec was a great go to. Now 99+% is **** (IMHO). In fact I can't remember last time I had a good one. Not a fan of the Beefsteak either (as you might have surmised)

Picpoul is my current wine list pick (clearly not red) in that I don't recall a bad one for some years.

Tonight we have a Fronsac which is rather spiffing with a pie from our local gastropub which have shifted from dining to takeaway with an attitude that simply leaves me breathless.

Top it off they are offering a thee course Mother's Day takeaway menu for tomorrow. This is full on pate, 24 hour leg of lamb, roast beef, cod wit ratatouille etc etc.

That last bit is truly inspirational to read. Those are the type of things we want to hear in these times.
quite like a picpoul myself. The lady in majestic said I can return the other 5 if I don’t like it and swap it for something else. I’ve not tried it yet but I fear my pallet is not as refined as yours. I’ve been breathing in a chemical and steel works for 40 years.

Times like this are made for decent wine... I’ve had a bit of a **** week and have decided I deserve a treat… luckily I knew on Monday it was going to be a stinker, so I put four great reds into the middle section of the wine fridge to bring them up to drinking temperature.

Only question now is which one do I want.

No question, by now you will have already uncorked the Pontet-Canet but I also have to salute your taste with the Musar, the Hochar’s know how to make a fine glass of red.
I‘m on the Glenelly tonight, a gem of a South African take on a Bordeaux........

Lidl 2w ago had Chilean Pinot Noir on for £4.25. I took everything they had (12 bottles) and this is nothing to do with Covid-19. Last time I took 60 bottles 6m ago. I've only one bottle left now!

I'm trying to be agressively positive.

No, that's not true but I've done 'the Zen thing' for many years. Apparently it stuck....

Still running a temp just fancied a glass to some chilled music.
Reckon there will be more of this happening and nice not to have the TV on Dave.

That’s 1 every 3 days!!!

I tried to buy x5 2L Coca Cola today. I was told I am hoarding. I said: no. I am buying the cola I need to mix with my rum. She repeated. I said I always buy this much cola.

Of a weekend (when I cook a roast) I like to start with 2-3 near frozen Magners around 1PM, then move on to a bottle of kiwi pinot noir before finishing off half a bottle of rum (with cola) later in the evening. However, it has been a roast day every day for a week now (given isolation)!
