Hi,
I know that the weather is cold and white smoke coming out from the exhaust is normal. But running it up to temperature with the temp about 85-90 degrees and 30 min drive.

Stopping at any red light or waiting, there are still white smoke flowing out but nothing when car is moving. I felt strange because no other car is exhaling white smoke.

Is it a normal thing? It never happen to me in other car so a bit confused at the moment. Newbie in this car if I ask a stupid question!

Even after 2 hour drive

Thanks guys!

Mine sometimes does that. Used to have the same issue with my old Alfa V6s. As long as your coolant levels are OK, I wouldn't worry. Someone might be along to contradict me in a moment though :)

My old GS did that too.

Where I was turning the battery off for long periods the car seemed to relearn the settings and would always start with the white smoke thing until it got comfortable.

That could be the start of head gasket problems...antifreeze/coolant leaking into the combustion chambers causes that white steamy vapour.

Hence why Contigo says to check the coolant level. However mine was quite steany but I put it down to it being 6degrees and not starting the car for a week or so and condensation being in the exhaust.

If its head gasket issues you will smell the coolant in the exhaust fumes.
Most likely condensation from cold UK weather.
We don't get that here.

What ever..these symptoms are indicative of engine wear and big bills one way or another are commonplace!
We all need to keep these old Maser's on the road...biting the bullet sometimes, expensive as it maybe has to be done!

Happy Christmas guys!

It could be the weather. Mine does it and also has low water too so probably a leak. Usually if gasket has gone you would smell anti freeze in the exhaust or feel water vapour once warm. Also removing the cap off the expansion tank would result in the snell of fuel/oil. Mine has none kf these but just has white air vapour cold. Stop worrying and drive it!

On my other car I am beginning to get blue smoke and this is because I need new turbos.

when i bought the car, the coolant in the resevoir is very low, I have to top up as I found out the car's temperature reaches the red line. The temp jumps from 80 to 90 at times. Driving at speed is always 80 and traffic or slow driving. jumps straight up to 90. A bit concerning to hear that the head gasket issue.

Think you need to have it seen, something is not right and you don't wanna lunch the engine!!!!
Cheers Wattie

Sounds OK to me as long as you've not had to put any more water in since you first bought it. Still need to have it checked out properly though.

Just out of interest how come diesels don't seem to billow clouds of water vapour from the exhaust.
I actually like the look of two plumes from 4 exhaust pipes symmetrically around the car - coupled with the burble of a V8 in an underground carpark

Very fast googling indicates that 1 gallon of water is produced from burning 1 gallon of diesel. Petrol produces (again very quickly) 1.5 gallon water.
