...is this any good? I was given it as a gift for helping somebody buy a new car. I'm not a whisky drinker, just want to know if it's decent. It'll likely end up being consumed by my father in law who likes a drop!

Daft thing is you can buy in tesco cheaper than the distillery shop.

I worked at a good few distillerys over the years, but never got as far north as Glenmorangie, Teaninich was furthest I got.

Very close by to me as well!
Balblair and Clynelish just a bit further up too.
I organised a classic Italian bike weekend a couple of years ago which involved a distillery crawl around the area from Glen Ord to Clŷnelish with several in between.
That was good fun. Pal of mine is the manager at one of the distilleries so dragged him along at night and we had a whisky tasting session. That was even better fun!!

It is a decent entry level aged scotch. I've just finished sipping a dram of Balvenie 17 YO with some smoked salmon.

The collection is growing nicely and I could do with this one if you fancy parting?

Should be a nice coifing malt, Glenmorangie has a very marketing lead branding recently which is a shame

Can't see past the Mcallan myself but if I have to.. Jura is also worth a visit.
