Yes there will be claret split all over the manor (slipping into Sweeney talk!).

Generally convertibles are more popular with the fairer sex but a Masser Spyder is a different beast:laughing:!

It wasn't there when I bought mine, I seem to remember the seller bringing it to the Italian Show at Beaulieu last year so I'd say that he's had it since March/April Last year. I might pop along this weekend and have a chat with him.

I think you'll find it's been on their forecourt since Oct 2010, priced in excess of £17k for part of that time. I say 'forecourt' in the loosest sense of the word in that the spyder has now migrated to their back yard, lurking rather sadly under a tarpaulin. It hasn't been converted into somewhere to house the chickens just yet, but you get my drift...

Thats sad that it hasn't found a home..........Welcome gamma ray...

Indeed. The pictures are lousy, I'm guessing the red interior is the same colour as Matt's old GS, so a lovely dark oxblood. It's a combo I loved on my DB7 (see avatar!) and I'd like it again.

I really think the guy would take an absurd offer... unless it hasn't sold because it's dodgy?

Martin - Did you buy the 2003 silver spyder they had for sale before at Classic Connection? Did you get the car inspected prior to purchase? Despite this one's slightly sad state, I'm tempted to have a drive and get Emblem to have a look at it. Unfortunately, my girlfriend thinks I should buy a Boxster(!), so it may have to be new car, new girlfriend...

Welcome gamma_ray - very wise choice to ditch the girlfriend. Boxster, makes the Spyder appear testosterone laden.

Enjoyed my 2003 Spyder - a little wobbly, but massive sense of occasion every time I got in it. As for the sticker price, I remember paying 65k for a brand new car listed at 72k. So 13.5k is a steal. Tested a boxster at the time and thought it balanced and competent, sterile and low rent interior - just soulless.

Damon - I 'm with you re. Boxsters - too much like a Berlin brothel interior for me, all that black leather etc, etc. Still, I'm sure they're nice enough if you like that sort of thing.

Another to throw into the fold and i actually mutch prefer the colour combo on this.

Ive been talk to the dealer/owner of the car since it came in the market 13months ago. The car apparently is immaculate and all SH is present and correct. Paint work looks new acording to the vendor.

Only down side is the millage.

wait for it ................... can be yours for 13k!

Tempted?.....im am :)

I don't get why people adverttise Maseratis for sale with bubbly steering wheels. 15 minute job to take the airbag off, peel the leather back and reglue with contact adhesive.

Welcome gamma_ray, nice to see more "locals" on here (I'm near Salisbury) and a fine choice of avatar sir, most "intense".

Prices of the Spyder seem to have really tumbled, though perhaps just due to time of the year and perhaps skewed because there are so few for sale and there happen to be a couple of cheap ones that haven't shifted - I sold mine about 5 months ago, advertised for £17800 which at the time was about the cheapest around....had a reasonable amount of interest too. It had fewer miles, higher spec and new clutch etc, but still a big difference.

I suspect it's a decent car despite highish miles - I havent re-checked the add but from memory it was one previous owner. If it's had a recent clutch and no other problems then it really is a complete steal at that price.....got to be pretty much depreciation-proof motoring!

Thanks for the welcome guys - there is a lot of really useful info/comments on here for us newbies.

Paco - nice spot (Repo Man is ALWAYS intense). I'm surprised there aren't more Masers on the roads around here - I only occasionally see a QP in Charminster and that's about it.

Parisien - the trip to the brothel (it's a long story) was a long time ago, but I'm pretty sure there was no nice red piping on the leather!

I'll let you know how I get on if I get down to Ringwood to try the spyder.

Agree, in addition, take a look at the engine...it's full of dust!
