It reminds of the Top Gear episode where they ask "can you buy a supercar for under £10k"? Well, yes you can, but should you? Er, no...

So what will happen now to the Spyder?
CC have got a car with 5k of work that needs doing according to Emblem and like Paco says Emblem do get down to the nitty gritty. By the sounds of it, it drove well and some of the faults are probably minor i.e it's roadworthy and it's stuff that could be done over time throughout the year by Emblem/yourself.

So if they sold for 10k then another 5k to put right..15k...Thats still good for a Spider......Isn't it..?.....Thats if they would sell for 10k

Eventually someone will buy it without a PPI.

OR

At £10k I'd could still be interested as I could do it up slowly over a year. Cat doesn't worry me as I'd have the exhaust done by ProSpeed anyway...

Hmmm...

The thing is for £10k + £5k you get a reliable Spyder.

Every car for sale that you do a PPI on will need something, and discs, clutch or any of the biggies are big money! Could PPI a £17k one and get a £5k prognosis just the same.

I'm not ruling this car out, as I said if it's still lurking there in a few weeks, we might have a conversation ;)

As ever Lewis.....if you go into any transaction eyes wide open...then you'll be fine..........it will be sold to someone whose not wholly aware of their maintenance costs etc...and then it will be an expensive mistake when caught unawares.

Make them an offer for the car on the basis that they address all PPI issues pre-sale?

.....only if they are desparate.....only a few will know the pros and cons of buying these cars.....and one of those that doesn't will come along......

If the car has been sitting there for over 12 months, no buyers, even those not aware, so now might be the time to get the deal? They should know that the longer it stays sitting there outside in a yard, the worse it will get, so it must be time for them to cut their losses and move it on. How's about £5K to take it off their hands???

I was meaning an offer higher than £13495, but a lower uplift than it might cost GR if he were to pay for it to be done paying retail/off-the-street rates. Perhaps £15k with issues sorted?

If you did that you would have to insist on OE parts being used, not cheap alternatives, otherwise you could finish up with a bodg and pay a high price.

Sold as seen with no warranty. They can't do that. Needs to have 3 months of cover. I wonder if it's hiding a secret or two.

It's also advertised on there for 20 odd K but yes seems a little on the cheap side, may go for 17k in the end. The lack of trident would worry me!
