I keep toying with the idea of re-finishing my wheels to look like this. I actually know this car from my Boston days. It inspired me to go search for a Grigio Nuvolari car! (wasn't for sale then)

What state are your wheels in at present JP , if they are mint ball polished, then i really dont see the point, as they are by far the best , and yes i prefer the graphite colour to silver any day , which is why MY GS and my 4200 has them on , but only recently i have had the 4200 wheels refurbed in High Gloss Black with a really light splattering of large metal flake , they look awesome and really make the car stand out , i was to pick the car up today/tomorrow but ive asked for a full valet and one or two other things to be sorted , so now it wont be untill tuesday , so i'll post some picks then

regards loz

Hi JP, I had kerbed three of my four wheels (Doh!) and so needed to get them fettled anyway. That meant the cost was neither here nor there, as they needed doing one way or another and so I went with my personal preference to change them to 'charcoal'. Needing to put new rubber on the back tied in nicely as well as I had these fitted at the same time.

I took the view that for what is not a massive amount of money (in Maserati terms anyway), if I got tired of them (which I haven't), or needed to change them back to standard to sell, then I would.

As for the look, I do think the grigio body colours suite 'charcoal' wheels.

Cheers, Miles.

Thanks guys, seems like you all prefer the charcoal (aka mercury) finish. Do you think my red calipers will clash?

Loz, I have some kerb marks on my wheels' outer edges, but nothing terrible. I did notice that one of the wheels appears to have been repaired (uneven surface with minor pits that have been smoothed over).

There is something about colour calipers..Can never understand when people opt for the geys or black on the options list...Go for it I say.

Go for it JP, its the same as mine and is a standard colour. Here is the paint reference: 354e2 for mine.

Is that a generic paint code Matt or does it need to be sourced from a specific producer? Pardon my ignorance. Thanks!

Thanks to all for the inputs, I am going to get this done when I am in Dubai in September.

I am asking Eurospares to throw in a set of mercury grey centre wheels caps into my ever growing basket.

I would greatly appreciate some more clarity on how to source the paint for the job.

Cheers!

Graphite all day long JP. Mine were grigio nube metallic and the darker colours do look more purposeful / aggressive. Andy
