What tools?

Fear not, I will have learned everything there is to know about dismantling the rear seats of a QP. What greater comfort could you have? We will be able to pile more wine in the back once we have got rid of the redundant back seats.

Success - have managed to disconnect the boot light. Pulled out the yellow bit and after alot of tugging the connector popped out
66918

I was then able to remove the top boot lining panel66919

and undo the three nuts that allegedly hold the sunshade in place.

I've now gone back to the try and remove the rear pillar trim and have removed the airbag symbols to locate the screw underneath

66920

Which I'm having a bit of trouble unscrewing as none of my screwdrivers seem to fit perfectly. Looks like what I would call a philips screw but is there anything special about this?

MarkMas - you're going to need a lot of popcorn!

I'd suggest they are likely to be a size 3 (largest), getting the right size driver is essential with pozidrive, any decent bit set will have 1,2 & 3 bits in it.

Keep going Eb you're doing great!

Step forward Newton and take a bow. It was indeed a PZ3. It was easy once I had the screwdriver at the correct angle (ie dead on but since it was recessed I couldn't see)
66954

And panels removed!

66955

Apparently I should now be able to slide out the rear deck - half way at least

But while it seems loose it ain't budging at the moment...

Almost there!

One question though, while researching screwdriver sets, only to find I had a perfectly adequate one already, I came across the fact that they give you 2 PZ2 screw heads in a kit. Mine is no different. Why? Is it because that is the most popular size and you're likely to wear them out?

Maserati really knocked themselves out with the stapled anti-squeak between the trim panels.

From memory pull forward and lift slightly. You can then access speaker and hi level brake lights to disconnect. Cable are short and be careful with speakers or you will pull the connection of the crappy cones.

I am being extremely brave (foolhardy) and attenpting to replace the rear woofer under the parcel shelf of my QP which I think I have blown (Well there's nothing but occasional fart)

I'm following the steps detailed here to get to the rear parcel shelf

I've never done anything on a car except top up the window wash and changed a wheel once. My tool kit is aimed at home DIY....

I need advice on what tools to get to help me out. It's mainly the awkward location and no space to turn the traditional spanner

First problem nut. This is one of the two bolt holding the backrest . I only have a 13mm spanner which is chewing up the corners as I can't get in the same plane as the nut. I need a long thing to go in and then a handle. I can see what I need in my head ...!

Next problem are the bolts under the rear seat. How to get at them? Reading the instruction It's not clear to me if I actually need to undo these in order to tilt the rearseat forward

What tool set do I need and where's the best place to go for it?

Eb
You dont actually need to undo the bottom seat cushions. The back tilts forward enough without needing to do it.

I have followed the instructions and removed every nut, bolt and screw mentioned. However the rear parcel shelf doesn't just slide out as advertised. On a more positive note, the dynamat has arrived to hopefully apply to the underside of the parcel shelf and the top of the fuel tank.

I aready have sourced a replacement speaker so I hope that's waht the problem is!

As Matt said off down to see him on Saturday as long as the country hasn't been locked down by then. I'm sure putting it back will be harder than taking it apart

Hi Oneball
Yes I most surely did. I can get my fingers under the front lip but it doesn't want to slide forwards and I don't want to pull too hard in case I break something.
I'll have another wiggle tomorrow
