I have posted previously when I was like most of us looking for my new ride.. But I could no longer resist the opportunity to show you the early pics of my new maserati GS She is a 2008 model and has most of the toys loaded up being a late model. She is now on her way to Durban in South Africa before crossing the seas once more to me here in Australia in Melbourne.

I will endeavour to post you many photos and adventures of my journeys across Australia its going to be the longest honeymoon of my life. There are so many roads to drive on out here with very little traffic it is fabulous. The sun shines almost all the year through and the skys are forever blue!!

I bought this one in the classic maserati colour Blue Nettuno with cream leather interior.

Here are some early photos you will all guess very easily who supplied her.View attachment 1747View attachment 1748View attachment 1749View attachment 1750View attachment 1751View attachment 1752

Hopefully these all upload correctly..

Congratulations - looks lovely....and presumably even rarer down there than they are up here!

According to friends in Australia, the government hates cars over there and despite roads with little traffic, speed control and fines etc are very draconian! Perhaps depends whereabouts you are, as I've never noticed it too much over there outside the cities.

Congrats Alan, very nice. This is has to be one of the last GS's regitered in the UK (there is a 2009 somewhere too).

When I travelled around Aus and NZ a few years back, i always fantisised about driving a Ferrari/Maserati on those wonderful roads - I'm very envious!

Enjoy, and make sure you post up some pics of her on the new roads!

Congratulations Alan. Really nice colour combination and seemingly in mint condition. I see it's a Nuvola car. Nuvola certainly have a good reputation, so I hope you were looked after through the buying process?

Please do let us know how things go once you finally get your hands on her?

Cheers, Emtee.

Driving in Australia

Well the governmnet dont hate cars but they need to keep there own brands of Holden HSV and Ford Falcons going so they tax the **** out of anything from Europe.
I didn't appreciate or notice really the high standards british Police apply to their craft until I came to live in Australia. Unfortunately the police here are a bit short sighted with traffic control and believe the best way to keep the roads safe is to speed trap you everywhere and anywhere while providing a very low standard of driver training. It took my wife just 20 minutes to get a license and I was so shocked at what she was being told by the instructors I took her to one side afterwards and started to teach her all the english ways of driving but adapting it for Australian conditions.

thats makes for a good topic I believe speed does not kill. Speed in the wrong circumstances kills. Indeed speed and performance can even be a safety feature.

having said that I have meet some very nice police officers who appear to have a great deal of common sense when applying the rules its just the other lot really who dont seem able to think. there are many beautiful roads out here which I will not explain right now i'll wait for the future chapters i write about trips across Aus. I have the first one already signed up and ready to go. It will be a a few days across to South Australia in convey with a Nissan GTR R34. Unlike most exotocs in Australia which are very rare I will be driving this one as much as possible. I have owned cars in the past which lived large amounts of their life in a garage and I realised later that was a complete waste of a good car. As a maserati owner its our responsibility to show the brand for it really is so everyone can learn to enjoy them in some shape or form for the great cars they really are.

And thanks for the kind words guys,, :auto14:
