Afternoon all & Happy Easter!!

Trust everyone is keeping safe!!

Well.... it’s happened... the Italianess has taken hold... took the car out for a brief spin to keep it fresh, and all **** has broken loose upon my dashboard!

Firstly, I noticed that letting off the accelerator at around 5k (for example) is then feel the car start to pull again as the revs were falling say around 3.5k as example as if the accelerator was being re-applied...

Then shortly after, I got lights galore of ASR, ABS, ESC failures and to check suspension... normally I’d associate this with lack of battery power but the battery is about 6 months old and the car has religiously been on a C-Tek charger when not being used and the car was fine about 2 weeks ago...

Any tips, advice, experiences, etc appreciated!!

Don't make assumptions regarding the battery, a few on here recently fell foul of that.

I got those lights when a coil pack failed (well two at once) - but also an acrid melty plastic smell in the cabin....

The go to response here is the battery. I’m not a fan of keeping them on a conditioner constantly, if the voltage is slightly out it can cause damage to the plates.

It could also be a wheel bearing, but that wouldn’t explain the sensation of the throttle being reapplied.

Yes just been in the phone to StuartW and he suggested the same thing with wheel bearings for the dash lights... so need to get it plugged in to diagnose it for sure...

Also, we thought perhaps a throttle re-learn might cause the seemingly sticking throttle.

In terms of the battery being ok.

Yeah I am considering it could be the battery, been made aware of the tracker potentially draining my battery as well which I didn’t consider, so seems that I may have 3 potential roots of the cause.

yeah I did think coil packs as a potential but no acidic smell
Possible one may have failed but not melted like mine did - I'd driven a fair distance down the M1 (From Newry to Dublin - not UK M1) - it was the plastic part that caused the smell...

Last time i experienced the christmas light effect on the dashboard.... And throttle inconsistency... Twas the alternator on my GS. A lovely $2000AUD bill. Xmas will never be the same again... Fingers crossed that is not what it is.

Yeah potentially, I guess I just need to get the car plugged in when I can to see what has flashed up, but not ruling it out for sure

hmmm this could be something to follow up as well.. As I did incur some symptoms of what would normally point to an alternator last year, but seemingly it was ok... maybe not now...

The battery light will illuminate if it’s your alternator if under charging,

start the car and put a multi meter accross the battery, 14.4v is the norm. If higher it maybe a failing diode pack, is the battery hot after a run?

The lights denote failed wheel bearing sensor, just the acceleration thing that does not compute but have seen lots of different items in different cars when they do fail.

no battery light so that puts that to rest I guess... all points towards the wheel bearing for the lights then....

Just this throttle issue... there was a definitely re-applying of power happening whilst de-accelerating from a foot off throttle scenario... you could feel the car coming back under load, and at one point definite pulling.

Put it into quarantine for two weeks; the rest of the f*cking world has gone mad and the car has decided to join in. It’s Italian, it’s what it does.
