Not our politics but it beggars belief......4 shot dead......How the **** can this one man in a country in the 'free world' incite this ? And why do so many people believe this idiot. What do they see that most of us don't. This has not happened in 200 years in America and is a dark day in their modern political times......Boris is like Mother Theresa next to Trump :)

All started by Trump on social media.
Couldn't believe what I was seeing last night.
Something to be said for living in the French countryside.

Reported by BBC as "A woman was shot dead by police and three others died of "medical emergencies", say police" 4 dead is bad, but circumstances as to why are relevant.

A month ago I would have said the chance of Trump getting back into office in 4 years' time was 50:50, I think this stunt has truly scuppered that and probably the possibility of his children ever running for office. The Trumps are not Republicans, they are self-serving brats including the eldest one.

If that had been a 3rd world country or a dictatorship we would have been shocked but to be in what is reputed to be the largest democracy beggars belief. Americans need to look at themselves and think how they are being perceived to the rest of the world, yes there is a muppet stirring up trouble but how can anyone believe after all the legal challenges were found without merit that this was a fundamentally flawed vote.

Nothing new here, happens from “where the dawn comes up like thunder” to across the Channel, to where they put pies in tins, virtually the whole world, egged on by politicians, many of whom have been hypocritical enough to post condemnations of Trump whilst having done the same.

About the only place it doesn’t happen is here. And that’s nothing to do with a higher nobility, it’s because we can’t be bothered. We’re the country of Rab C Nesbitt and Joey Boswell. If you want a Brit to put some effort into something it better involve a Tennents Extra or ripping off the DHSS.

I don't really follow US politics as they're all as bad as each other.

But what's the difference here between the Trump supporters rioting in Washington and Biden's (ANTIFA) rioting all over the US?

6 of one half a dozen of the other? Looks to me that is all down to who is flavour of the month with the TV channels as to the level of reporting.

The violence is the same and both Antifa and Proud Boys etc are deserving of equal condemnation, but the yuuuge difference is that Biden does not invite Antifa to come and march on Capitol Hill.

If that had been a 3rd world country or a dictatorship we would NOT have been shocked, instead we would have shook our head in dismay and thought how this would not happen in an 'enlightened' Western democracy.

The fact that it is in the US is what makes this shocking, albeit the absolute numbers who marched on Capitol Hill are relatively small and even smaller are the number who were numbskulled enough to enter. The silent majority across the political spectrum are looking on in horror.

The GOP will be regretting ever appointing Trump as they now look to have lost control of the Senate as well and will be distancing themselves from this as much as possible; I imagine a fair few people who voted for Trump in November will also be regretting their support of him. Trump does not represent moderate Republicans with this behaviour.

Have you heard how many people were they? 2000 from what we can see? This is nothing to handle for our well trained CRS in Paris :)

But does Biden refusing to condemn ANTIFA almost act as an 'approval' of what they are doing.

Just spoke to a work colleague whose sister lives in Portland. She told him they have literally wrecked the city, yet nothing even makes it to the news.
Reckons the damage done is in the billions!

He has created the 'Trump Cult'....conditioned them long enough to believe anything and everything which comes out of his mouth.

It is clearly unacceptable for a 'democratic' country to behave in that manner. Boris must act without delay and send a peacekeeping force to Washington!
