Have you bought it?
I’ve made him an offer but at the moment he wants far too much for it. It’s not running, the fuel pump has perished, some major rust on the front and lots of bits missing. I know someone who did some major work on it the last time it ran & it needs a lot of work.

Rust on the doors and wings as well. Remember, panels such as the bonnet and rear flat back are NLA. Like the headlights. And...etc. The final killer will be rust on the bulkhead - that's what's always terminal for old Ghiblis.

I assume it isn't actually a Cup? It has the badge, but that was an easy retro fit at the time, though is now NLA (obviously). I assume not, as wrong wheels and wrong fuel cap.

The reg number on the collection paperwork doesn't show up on the DVLA database either. Or am, I reading it incorrectly?

I'd say it needs to be very cheap. Even at free, if the rust has taken hold, by the time you've stripped the car, remade panels, rebuilt it, repainted it, etc, the repair cost could be more than its eventual value. Especially given that a really nice condition and original Ghibli (non-Cup) is only mid-teens.

If it is a real UK RHD Cup, its a 50% chance it's my first one, as from memory they only made two in silver.

It’s not a cup, I believe it was imported from the Far East & the cup parts were purchased separately. Unfortunately it has had some vandalism over the years e.g. the wing mirrors were broken off. The interior is very poor from being out in the sun, the boot has a lot of rust inside.

Yes the rust is very bad so new panels needed, it was last started about 3 years ago. I can’t see it being worth more than 2-3k.

I’d see it purely as breaker, in terms of value. And I very much doubt there are £2k’s worth of sellable parts. But of course, I’d far rather see someone properly restore it, with not too much of an eye on whether it was a financially sensible thing to do or not. Heart over head is what’s required here.
