Well that was very quaint and chocolate box pretty and so for the church next door and the whole village too!

View attachment 113813

Just very small, grade 2 listed and in a conservation area so no chance of planning permission to extend. Ticked so many boxes though.
The listed part would be a massive pita. Our next-door neighbour's house is listed, we dodged that bullet. Our lives are so much easier whenever we want to do anything.

Morning all

Coffee and emails followed by a call with investors on what should be an interesting acquisition opportunity for us.

I have a half day and if the rain stops I may make a start on fitting the stripes and logo’s on the Strad in preparation of LeMans.

Morning all, didn’t achieve much yesterday and probably won’t today. We do have a house viewing this afternoon, our first out of the county! It is in the Suffolk border village of Nedging Tye, another chocolate box thatched cottage, this one has a moat! Yes an actual moat with water! This would be a semi-retirement move if it happens.

Have fun all…

Looks nice, as long as you are not very tall.

Morning all. Yay Friday.

“Nedging” sounds like a dirty word!

Sounds like it used to be an edging tie, but gradually became a nedging tie (like a napron becoming an apron - but in reverse).

I'm pretty sure he will be needing some of these anyway.

“Nedging” sounds like a dirty word!
I am sure @Crud will come up with an appropriate definition shortly …………. :p
It does sound like a dirty word but does in fact refer to the ancient art of gently rubbing one's posterior against the flanks of a bullock. The practice was believed to date from when bullocks were considered lucky and a good cure for piles, which were commonplace in the late middle ages due to poor quality toilet paper and not enough Alpen. In more enlightened times, after the invention of Andrex and Alpen, the practice continued as an art form, where the winner in village competitions was the one who could raise the biggest smile on the face of a bullock. 'Nedging Tye' in particular was named after a famous competition in the area when there were two winners and two happy bullocks.

Today I was mostly on calls where I did some world-class shouting and swearing at colleagues from countries that don't do ******* nuance.

Another one to look at in East Burgholt on Tuesday and a revisit to the front runner in Great Sampford. The forma is Tudor and Hopefully won’t disappoint.

I think we are close to a decision and it should make life a little easier.

We went a'yomping in East Bergholt just the other weekend, Newton. The youngest plays cricket there. Gorgeous village, and a beautiful corner of the world.

Good morning everyone, like Newton, off house hunting. Saw one with a double garage and a huuuuggggeee drive, rest of house was ok. Seeing one later out in Mottram which is dangerously close to Yorkshire but would be a great place for a Northern meet. Barbeque and meal with my brothers later, one has become a grandfather yesterday. Only 15 days overdue. Hopefully I'll get to see my niece and great nephew tomorrow.

Oh and Charlie gets his hat today.
