Hello everyone!
I had my boiler service yesterday and was talking to my plumber about some new radiators. What good timing as one I was considering replacing had a new and strange bubble of paint; we squished it and out came water so that confirmed the desire to replace that radiator!
One thing I like where I live is that it's a safe place for children to play outside. With half term and yesterday having nice weather, a whole drove of the street's sprogs had been playing bulldog in my end of the cul-de-sac. They're generally very good, but after several hours two of the boys decided to sit on my bonnet. Oops! I told them that wasn't acceptable, asked where they lived and went to see parents who then informed me that I am not to tell the children off and should always come to them first citing one boy's special needs. I pointed out that I asked where they lived so I could talk to the parents. Parents then complained that because I'd told the children to stop that they now have to bring them all inside and they're going to have to spend the rest of the day dealing with an upset child. Because the other boys were all saying nobody sat on my car the parents declared "they're all saying nobody sat on your car; the can't all be lying!" WTAF???
I then realised that ALL the children went inside the same house - at least 8 of them - aged between about six and twelve.
Where I live is a tad unusual in that it's a village but some of my street was built as social housing and some of those houses are still council. I'm aware that this family only moved in a month or few ago but wow, how do they all fit? I can't imagine what sort of life it is to have a huge clan all cramped in, and I bet moving out here was a massive expansion of space for them. Still, no excuse for letting their offspring run riot and not teaching them responisbility.
Rant over... sorry, wrong thread!
HapPea Tuesday!
