The good morning thread

Their mum never calls them by their full name because they're all angels in her eyes. Going to electrify the car...

Years back a mate electrified the door handles on his Sierra Cosworth after it had 5 attempted thefts of it, 'apparently' a 'traffic warden' tried the handle and got an 240v shock.
Then reported it to the police and my mate got a rather large fine for his trouble (made the papers).

My question is why is a traffic warden trying the handle on the car. Especially when it was parked legally and safely on a road?

I'd think twice about electrifying it. Even if it does work.

For the record, he disconnected the electrification of the external handles and wired them up to a lovely alloy gear knob with the aforementioned voltage. 4 further attempts to nick his car all resulted in the car not being stolen.

If only they had used marigolds!

A very good morning to all and midweek. Have a charity coming to pick up a shed load of drink that has two month lift left on it. It was that or have it destroyed so no brainier especially as it costs around 2k to destroy these days in bulk.

Morning all. Busy busy day ahead.

Have to be at home for the delivery of my new Zwift Bike, although I don't know what time that's being delivered.
Also have to get into the office to print out 3 contracts to sign with new clients, and also have conference calls with Slovenia, Spain, Indonesia and Liechtenstein. And possibly Chile!

No rest for the wicked!

Good Morning All, can anyone tell me why the media are making a fuss about a 'poor little rich girl' in Dubai but not the thousands of indentured workers there living in squalid conditions and working without the benefit of H&S, or basic rights?

Rant over.

Morning you lot!

I think I'm seeing a general move in the correct (downwards) direction with my blubber content. If I can get to a similar loss as I did a couple of years ago (before half of that returned due to injuries) then things will be going very well. Hopefully stay uninjured this time and keep it going for longer. It should also make rowing real boats in the summer much easier.

Anyone seen the McLaren car launch from last night? I'm pleased I didn't stay up! Whilst the tech is awesome (not dissimilar to the MC20), the car just looks like most other Maccas. (Still want the GT)

Just to mention I saw your lovely GS Spyder a few weeks ago over at SI.

Still looking the business. Brought many happy memories of my ownership time with her.
Hope she's still running well.

I was reading about this car earlier. Reading the spec and weight of the car it moves the game forward for this type of car. Feels like a game changer for a hybrid super for car. Yes looks like other Mclarens but this one I think they have managed to add the best bits of the others to make a car that looks like the others but better.

Whilst we're still a way off being allowed to...

Reopening is now being discussed and will happen at some point in the next few months.

May I suggest that as soon as we're allowed we have a meet ASAP. Nothing complicated, nothing with some long period of time to organise...

Just name a pub and meet?

We could possibly keep it outdoors. Go to that pub we usually go to pre Ace, or the Cock of The North?

Just a thought, but keen that when we're allowed we meet up. Even if only 5 of us manage it, it'd be fun!

Cock of the North. Not Ace on an Italian night. Actually, just not Ace ;)

Morning all. Another early one!

Also, I have stupidly allowed us to run out of heating oil! So might be a bit chilly for a few days....
