Morning all,

2nd night running of having a poorly child - must be something in the air Matt.
All started at 2am with a temperature and shivering, that moved on to projectile vomiting at 4am, cleaning up process finished at about 4:30.
Felt like I dropped off at about 5:30 for the alarm to go off at 6am.... Urgh.

Just to top it off I have a very important meeting today that I really could have done with being fully awake for.
Fortunatly I've already made a decision on what outcome I want from the meeting, it's just down to the money involved now... But more on that next week some time.

Have a good day all!

Morning all; excited....!

Doing something later.........

Oh yes; driving the new 2013 GTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Spent all of yesterday evening building the electronics into my son's birthday present for his girlfriend; its a 1920's His Master's Voice wind up record player and we are putting an i-dock system into it, done fretwork club vents in two panels, put golden club griles behind with speaker cloth backing, mounted speakers so they will use the box for bass. mounted the switches on the inside of the front panel so the on/off switch an volume control pass through. Have put the PCB on the side and the transformer at the back. All this so the origional wind up mechanism can be serviced and refitted over the weekend. I spent most of last Sunday restoring the brass horn, it's looking rather good.... photos to follow when it's done! just got to get an orange LED as the green one just doesn't look right!

Have fun Newton....Jealous

Dan, Matt, hoe your little ones get better soon...

Morning all.

Matt, I hope your youngest is in better shape now. Did you get your valves fixed?

/A

Adam, sorry for the late response. Took her into work yesterday and they were working again, then at lunch I had one open and one shut?????

Its going into Dick Lovetts in 2 weeks, the day before Llandow for fixing. Its is weird though, driving round in silence...its just not me, and the car feels like a pu55y cat!

The neighbours are enjoying the holiday though...not for long!

Please tell me that's not a euphemism, Newton. Photos unnecessary, really.

Mind you, with your test-drive this afternoon maybe it IS a euphemism. :)

Have a good day, everyone.

No, even I avoided the euphoniums, they would all have been too easy. THe unit must have been in a leaky shead for years, the horn was all beaten up and crumpled and water stains all over the very dull brass, the elbow at the bottom was broken in two. He only paid £3 for the gramaphone and I cleaned off the worst and straightened out the bits, braized the elbow back together and machine polished the worst parts and hand polished it all back to a reasonable shine. Don't want to over do it or it will look artificial. I've left some of the dents and ripples for the same reason. Amazingly I actually got it playing 1960's shelac 45's and it really is quite loud!!! The clockwork mechanism is in amazingly good condition and it even has the origional transfer on the front of the box....

Anyone got any 78's in the attic?

I'm all outta gags!

Morning all. Have a great day and here's to the sun staying out. We've got some kind of school open day in Chelmsford today. Bit hazy on the details but sounds like an excuse to give the Italian a run-out. It's been neglected lately.

No Maser this weekend. After the recent work I have decided to have the bonnet and wings painted so it will all be nice and new. Have a Punto Abarth so better than the horrid 500 they gave me before

Morning all, quite a nice looking day in Stratford ATM, half day here the. Shooting to Oxford hope the weather stays good, little chilly but no clouds and some sun light.

Still not found the right QP. Although a few nice ones out there for sale.
