Happy Turkey-throttling*, Dennis.

Today I found an excellent independent service place which knows its way around Astons (as well as Italian and German exotica). I got the sense of a SportsItalia-like pragmatism, just a bit more East Anglian. When asked about MoT facilities, they explained that ‘we employ the testers and they do what we tell them to do’. Which is handy if sometimes your car can be a bit angry-sounding.

*not a euphemism.

Morning all. Well done Sam! I'm beginning to think that the world (or in this country at least) is becoming not a very nice place to be right now.
A lot of people think they can do whatever they want without retribution.
Some idiot threatened my wife and threaten to run Sophia over (in her buggy) on Saturday, just because Alex was putting Sophia into the car and blocking the parking space next to our car.

I think he should buy a lottery ticket as he isn't going to have that much luck again. I wasn't there as I was paying the bill in Pizza Express and paying for the parking.
If I was..... well, you can probably guess the rest....

A day of trying to get stuff sorted, and then working out where I'm watching the footy.
That’s fookin outrageous! People tend to be habitual with shopping I’d pitch up in the same car park next week for an hour and see if he turns up. Sometimes the only solution is a good hiding.

I was walking with Mrs C down one of our local bridle paths one evening when a selection of our local youth came from behind us on motorised scooters. This gets on my wick, same like the guy that rides his motorbike up the bridle path outside our house so he can save, at a guess, 45 seconds.

So as they came towards I suddenly lunged at one of them, and pulled back. Reaction left me speechless (with astonishment and amusement)

'I'll ******* ***** you' ***** me? Do you think this is Compton FFS? It's a middle class suburb of Essex.
'You better be back her in 5 minutes, or else' I mean what? I mean why? I mean huh?

The world can be odd, no mistake

Straight Outta Harlow, Chris. Nowt qu33r as folk. Walking down a main road in my villas get the ogther week, there was some traffic queue due to nothing. I dunno. Someone leaving their drive. Doesn’t matter. Dafty wee bollix in the car next to me starts leaning on his horn, I commented to Mrs Crud, that’s loud. Passenger leapt out, ‘what did you f*cking say?’. I said I wasn’t talking to you. ‘Good’ he said, and got black in his car. *****.

In other news, the noisy Vantage is now SORN’d and will be enjoying some R&R, some tidying up on its PPF, a bit of a top-up on the protective gunk, service and MoT before returning to me when the weather has unshitted itself. Can’t wait. I love that car. Even if it does spit petrol at Dem.

Morning. WFH then my eyes are going in for a polish this afternoon. Hopefully they will come back with contact lenses attached, because having to wear glasses for 8 weeks has really got on my nerves.

Have a great day, all

Morning. Working on a Lambo customers wife’s Brera 3.2 Q4 auto. It’s interesting that you can feel the Italian linage:

Rusted front subframe
AC compressor front pulley rattling
Rad leaking
Handbrake sticking

The Italians, if nothing else, are consistent.

I’m also working on a new 1360cc twin hole Solex 5 speed engine (70hp) for my 1.2 4 speed (54hp) R14. It’s 40 years old, been sat for a decade but every bolt came undone without a fuss. Really enjoying the rebuild. I’ll post up some pics of the progress later but here it is in all its 40 years of muck. An Ultrasonic cleaner is amazing by the way, every home mech should have one along with a variety of brushes and Silver King and satin black spray cans.

Just waiting for AUTODOC to deliver the waited for clutch kit and gaskets, due today.

Good morning everyone, I pity those above that live in rough neighbourhoods. The local youths round are (sic) way are very courteous to me... probably think I run a county line or something.

Really, Church Langley isn't rough. Unless you want to compare it to the home counties :D

Kids just trying to be a bit 'ard, innit

I don’t think my jewellery ultrasonic cleaner is big enough. I wonder what size they go up to? Is it like a bathtub with a lid?
