It is indeed a good Friyay! End of the week with a tender to submit first thing, then a customer demo and then getting stuff ready for a fun weekend.
Heading to Southampton this evening as we have a neice coming for a sleepover weekend, the last chance for one before she starts school. That's going to be chaos!

Having had two shoulder operations I know that feeling well. And it's not a pleasant one!
You'll only make that mistake once! Unless you're still on the morphine!

Morning all. Office for most of the day, lots of tough decisions, lots of bad news to give people as we're doing the energy procurement for a large hotel in London.
Their electricity bill will go from £600,000 a year to almost £2.2m!!!!!!!!! If they're lucky......

Then late afternoon we're taking Joseph and his friend to the Circus.
Hopefully it will be more entertaining than the last time I went where I was bored silly.

Morning all, just paid three invoices to be able to collect a vertical mill later today for my workshop. It’s an Axminster 40 for anyone interested. It is a mid size machine with MT3 setup. I had intended to buy a lathe with a milling attachment but this will admirably do everything on the current requirement.

I know I moved on my dad’s equipment to Wanderer (RIP) but at that time I didn’t have a requirement. Those machines were also too big for me.

Also later I will be setting up a travelling crane on the RSJ in the garage to lift it off the trailer and to also dismantle my old Drummond lathe to send that to its new home with Alex’s future father-in-law.

Alex is arranging some 1:1 training for me (with a work colleague) to get the most out of it.

But good news the governemnt will give them £400 off...

The bad news is that some estimates suggest 20-25% of hospitality business will close when their energy contracts expire as they won't be profitable with a new contract.
Some people might say "they need to look at their margins" a restaurant could go from paying £15k a year to £50-60k a year.
Fish and chip shops to be hit particularly hard!

A very good Saturday morning to all. Off to a Cribbs Causeway as need to do a bit of clothes shopping and it would be rude not to take a look around Aston Martin, Bentley, McLaren, Lotus, Maserati and Lamborghini while there….Only do it as Alex always asked to if we are over there ….Tonight off around some friends for a house warming as they have just moved into their dream home a stunning barn conversion. Have a great weekend all.
