The good morning thread

Even though it’s the 21st time I’ve done this, it’s still an exciting day - I’m off to collect my new (to me) Maserati. 4 hr train journey there, 2.5 hr car drive back. I know which will be more fun!

Slight sense of trepidation, having not yet seen the car nor its paperwork. Fingers crossed...

Good luck!

The Severn and Teme are predicted to reach their highest recorded levels, the Lugg is almost there too.

I’d be surprised if you can get to Leominster on the train. If you end up stuck in Worcester/Malvern/Hereford send us a message.

Have a great one, all

Much better than yesterday thank you. Still going to work from home but apparently I have a cracked 5th Metatarsal bone from when I went over on my ankle a number of years back and as it is weak it could go again. This is the second time but felt worse this time. Thanks for asking buddy.

Morning all. Office bound today, and hopefully Apple will have got to the bottom of my issue of not being able to connect my iMac to the interweb using an Ethernet cable.
An replacment Imac is about 2 grand, so a little on the pricey side, but it may have to be done...

Also finalising a car related trip next week the Rotterdam which should be exciting, and then to sort one to Rome.

Can I suggest you get some physio and / or some personal training to ensure you have some exercises (and do them) to strengthen and thus protect it. Or as you age and weaken I'd fully expect it to happen again (and again)

Glad it's improving though :)

I squashed my little finger (and less so the two beside it) a few weeks ago and it was inevitable the nail would be lost, I've been paring the nail back a bit every day to ready for the expected loss; and I just managed it spectacularly reaching for a door! One of those moments you know will happen sooner or later but still make your eyes water as it happens.

Back to work then!

Thanks C….That is a plan….The weird thing with this one is I went to bed fine and got up and couldn’t put my foot down….I think Liz did a misery on me in my sleep.

Sleep odd on it, any one of a number of things.

My PT is something of a wizard and while my arthritic hip is never likely to let me run again, I can, at least move without pain due to his work on the muscles surrounding it

2 years last October I fell off a ladder and dislocated my big toe and broke 2 others. I had an operation to have it put back in and pinned. By the time I was ready for physio covid was with us and it was telephone appointments. I did the excercises as best I could but I still have problems to this day. It can be fine and then all of a sudden swells and I have limited movement. I think I’m going to have to go private to get it sorted.

Thanks for the offer of help.
I made it as far as Hereford (so one stop shy of Leo) but have now had to grab a taxi.
There’s been a landslide just north of Hereford and track has been washed away!

Glad you’re sorted, it’s no too far by road from Hereford to Leominster. Check the route home you might be better going towards Newport and over the bridge than going east to the M5.

Severn in Worcester this morning

Now safely home, and I’m pleased and relieved to report the car is every bit as good as expected. The history file could not be bettered - the car has been serviced every year since new (so 24 times) with every service invoice in the file. Plus lots of other invoices for various in-between items such as tyres, batteries, etc. Plus all the MOT certs and tax discs. Even the invoices from when each of the 4 owners had bought it.

There is one (electrical) fault though, so I’ll have that fixed.

Overall I’m delighted. As was the chap at the toll bridge in Bath who gave me the “nice car Mister” line when I handed him my £1 to cross.

They only made 70 RHD Ottocilindri versions. It’s a shame more people haven’t had the chance to enjoy one.

Good Morning and Hump Day it is.
More general work coming my way for the workshop on recommendation of another customer.
Giving myself a 5 year window and then I'm only working on my own projects.
Stay Safe all.

Morning. PT session this morning, then, depending on deliveries, coffee with one of my old team.

Had a great chat with my old boss yesterday as well.

Have a good one, all

Morning all.
Conference Day 2 for me.
Day 1 felt like a total clusterfuck in the 'engine room', but feedback suggests that the experience 'on deck' was pretty good.
Here goes...
