Just be aware you'll likely not get a huge amount of warning, but a decent RAID should see you through

I’m familiar with Raid and server grade HDD’s so happy to work on that.

It's a fine line, Mr Ball. I think the heat was ok but the unit cooled down fast, so it was a bit of a heat, swear and repeat cycle. Also, some of the plastic on the unit is very brittle. And thin. Including the clips. Bad combination. Also, the outer part is very curved but straightens out either in the heat or as it cools, so getting it back together again could be as fraught as separating the two halves in the first place. My third issue was that the clear plastic has somehow gone cloudy during the process, quite different from its neighbour on the other side of the car.
It is now a project tail light.
PS - I forgot, the lens also warped. Odd as it was only in at 100C and only for 10 mins, which is the 'recommended' time and temp.
Was drilling holes and covering with gore-tex part of the prescribed solution?Only done BMW headlights. Pop the metal clips off put in oven and voila pulls apart.
Re-bond and it still leaks
Repeat 3 times
Buy new headlight.

The Aston one has a vent but it doesn't seem to work very well. They're a breeze to take out, shove in the airing cupboard overnight and fine by morning... but that's not really the point. I know of one guy has two sets and just swaps from time to time.Nope just, re-bond. The BMW headlights have little J shaped rubber breathers on the back that vent the light they cope with condensation but not if water is actually running in.
Poor chap I hope he is doing well. Poor triage by the ambulance I must say.Good morning all. Later this morning which I would like to say was because I slept in but unfortunately had a call at 1 this morning from the Mother in law to saw that the Liz’s Dad had bad pains in his shoulder and they said the ambulance would be 3 hours so if someone could bring him in it would be better. So off to the hospital at 1 it was. Turns out if was a heart attack so glad we didn’t wait for an ambulance.
He hasn’t had a good week as he has had prostate cancer for around 12 years and there are now complications and he has been told it will be months or weeks rather than years.
Good morning from the British Grand Prix. Or at least the campsite thereof. Looking forward to the Petit Prix this afternoon. It will be very hot and so lots of sunscreen and beer needed.
Like a stupid bugger I have paid for a campsite. Maybe not such a bad idea. Not good news Andy, similar thing happened to my Dad a few years ago but being a stubborn bugger he soldiered on for another 3 years.
On other news today looks like another scorcher and the joy of the bizarre British GP weekend, quali was close but according to the locals, with it being late, lots of fans and lots of park and ride on flat bed trucks it was taking up to 3 hours to get from the circuit to the A43 roundabout, even the circuit was sending out apologies over social media
Morning
Andy, that’s tough how is Liz holding up?
GP sprint looks interesting will have a gander.
