Many happy memories of student life In Exeter. If only I could have bottled some of it so I could savour it now like one of JonW or Bebs' wines. I did not know how lucky I was!

ps is the apostrophe in the right place.....?
You obviously require guidance. Report to the office at Wilton House on 26th April to receive such.

Morning all, a training day today as I wake in a hotel in Dunchurch (Rugby) happy to be alive!

yesterday after my inspection in Manchester I drove over the Pennines and dropped in on Hodroyd of this parish and had a lovely couple of hours putting the world to rite. Then drove south to my hotel. About 2 miles short of my destination I turned right onto the A45 and ambled along when a prat in a Transit Connect decided to try and commit suicide! He literally drove across the road accelerating at me! I swerved out of his way, as did the horse box behind, unfortunately the Focus behind that didn’t so well and took a hard hit on the rear door where a baby was sitting! Then he aimed at a Volvo XC90 lofting it and ripping the rear wheel off and spinning it 180, then he aimed at and hit square on a 12 tonne box truck! That stopped him thankfully!

66291

the really upsetting thing for me is that he had a dog unrestrained in there with him and it hit the screen! His complete act of selfishness could have killed or seriously injured many, thankfully only the prat himself was serious, his dog and the Volvo driver less so and the baby needed checking out. The psychological scars will be significant to all of us innocently trying to get through our day! The truck driver was unbelievably calm having realised what was occurring had stopped, applied his hand brake, got his feet out of the way and braces for impact! His dash cam footage will I’m sure be invaluable. I had a few flash backs last night of his death stare as he steered at me!

I do hope the dog is ok.

Have fun all...

Morning all a day sorting legal stuff out with solicitors and moving on from wife no 2.
There will be some money made but not for me I'm guessing.
Have a nice Hump Day all.

Holy cr4p, Newton! I'm glad to hear you're physically alright, and the same for most of the innocent people. I hope you're able to get over it soon though I know it's not easy.

Other than that, what ructions can I cause today in the office?

HapPea Wednesday!

Sodding ****, Newton, that's awful. I wonder if he was having a seizure or some terrible thing. Speedy recoveries wished for all, including the hound (you weren't tempted to adopt it..?). Anyhoo, how's the young Hodster doing?

Working at home today. Many calls lie in wait, tempting me with their innocent subjects but luring me inexorably towards the Cliffs of Insanity and my certain doom. That's all, I think.

Sadly Newton, with the mileage I do I tend to see something similar (although not quite that bad) every year.
I think I use the horn on the car more than ever.
Just the 9 mile drive into work this morning I had to use it twice. One for a lorry driving on too fast and ending up on my side of the road as he came round a corner (looked like he was on his phone as well), and a van pulling out and not looking!
The standard of driving in this country has got worse and worse.

Morning all, i need to write a job application today...it's going to take ages, and I'm, not in the right "salesman" mindset...which I need to sort out soon...i probably should stop procrastinating!
Finished writing it late last night, now for some peer review. The joys.

It's resulted in me putting off the day-job a little, so time to play catch-up

Newton - glad you are ok mate. Sounds pretty horrific. What was he trying to do, end it all for himself and take other with him?

I hope you've learnt your lesson, don't visit Hodroyd ;)

Glad your Maserati driving abilities, resulted in you dodging the nutter!

No seizure or anything; he fixed me with a stare as he pointed the van at me, I moved and he adjusted to me again, at that point I realised he was actually aiming for me so waited till the last instant and flicked it hard left onto the grass verge, almost made it clear, just caught me with the wing mirror. Credit goes to the great handling of the VW Transporter. As the horror set in I watched in my wing mirror the chaos unfolding behind.

Insane. What happened to him afterward? I assume breathalysed, and then what?
