Possibly Frank, I guess I'm one of those fat, expensive consultants but I can assure you I have to deliver efficient service, on time and to budget or I don't get paid a penny :(

Ditto here.......and I can be struck off a national register and not allowed to work again in my chosen career!

Oh, the private sector is full of those. I've seen a multi-million pound project at a house-hold name bank that transferred an entire operations department (150 people) to an outsourcer. The whole thing was pulled after 2 weeks of being live, costing further money to bring the staff back in-house. The losses from basic errors caused by the new processes and procedures put in place by the new managers was so horrific the bank lost all trust and canned the whole thing. There was a management "re-structuring" after that, which is more than usually happens in the public sector. I was on a parallel project watching it all fall apart.

We do hear horror stories all the time in the news from the public sector, but a lot of the private sector stuff just gets swept under the carpet when it goes wrong...sack a few people, promote a few out of harms way and it never happened. Public is just that, I guess...a lot more pressure. I mean, I'm here on a specialist forum for cars and I won't put the name of that company up, so it's unlikely it'll ever come to light. You poor guys loose a couple of tens millions of the public purse and it's never forgotten.

Morning all the early birds. Nice to see some semblance of dawn these mornings.

Mostly meetings, today. Oh well, such is life :)

Good morning.
First proper commute into the City for years today. Last night was cr@p as everything on the northern line was diverted away from our line due to a faulty train. Gave up and got a cab. Felt like the City saying "welcome back"

Good Morning All,
Not a bad day here so far, 9 degC and getting brighter through the cloud with odd glimpses of the sun..!!
I think I will stay away from the stuff going up the rear, if I get involved I will finish up in trouble for sure..!!
Have a good one whatever you are doing and if you can, go fast..!!
Cheers

****, the garage I wanted to rent for some reason is now no longer permitted to be rented.

I don't want to park my car on the side of the road. Although there is a nice Audi S5, a Porsche Carrera, and I have seen a GTS...all parked on the road, I don't really want to.

Not sure what my options are. I've searched a few websites and have emailed one person, but unless they halve what they want, I might be waiting for a garage for some time.
