Fake News with Ian Hislop - BBC 4, I think (although I did fall asleep through some of it). Also the sony channel on Freesat - showing loads of 'no-brain-required' old series, eg Pursuaders, the saint, columbo, etc - apols if they've already been mentioned

Mindhunter on Netflix is very good , the Netflix TV series have a proper cinematic feel to them now , the 4K picture on a LG Qled TV is fantastic

Watched movie this morning, looked interesting, 'Her Name Was Christa'. The synopsis said it was basically about a shy punter and a prostitute falling in love, with a twist and not at all like 'Pretty Woman'.

Movie is excellent, slightly slowly paced put you empathise with the guy and it seems to working out for the both of them.

But the last half hour shows some of the grossest things I've ever seen!

Not sure anyone would fancy it based on that but SPOILER ALERT paged down below, highlight it to view....

He finds her in the bathroom seemingly dead as she's also a junkie. At this point I assume he loses his mind and carries her to the bedroom and she comes round and tells him she's a junkie and they start bonking. The bonking is shown on two levels, one from his POV and one from reality. Fact is she is dead and he's lost his mind and only sees her alive and continues bonking an increasingly rotting corpse. Gross!!

Neighbours complain over a 'smell' and eventually the cops burst in and see him nuts-deep in an insect-ridden decomposed corpse. Gross!

More to it that that but it actually was very thought provoking if vomit-inducing at the end. I like it!

I'm halfway through the Netflix film of the Apollo 11. There some excellent footage, some I've seen before some not but all of it has been 'cleaned' up for 4k screens. There's a lot of background footage and best of all no commentary, just dialogue from the original recordings providing the story. Quite immersive. i won't spoil the ending.

wife's turn to choose a movie last night and must admit the one she chose was very moving and all about the barbaric sharia law, shocking true story with a barbaric graphic ending, fooking outrageous this still happens in some parts of the world:mad:

the stoning of soraya m

If my wife has an early night, I often pick a film, at random, not even reading the blurb, perhaps just checking IMDB or rotten tomatoes score, and watch. I like blind watching films, no spoilers, and the satisfaction of finding a good one feels great.

I was broken after that one.

We’ve been watching Billions on Sky. It’s pretty good.

As this is a TV thread, I feel the need to spread some Sorkin love..
The West Wing
The Newsroom
Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip

Gomorrah, Gomorrah, Gomorrah... There I’ve said it 3 times.
Shamelessly mentioning this again, I know I mentioned it in the big list before, but Jesus....
Rewatching it all again now from the beginning. Absolutely mesmerising. I’ve decided it’s the greatest TV show of all time. Makes The Sopranos look like The Waltons.
Watch now on Sky / HBO, your life will be poorer if you don’t.

Gomorrah is the best series I’ve ever seen. @Zep will agree too, I’m sure.

2nd for me is Entourage. It’s older now but so so good.

Lilyhammer on Netflix. Second time round for me, but it’s still brilliant. It’s got everything - even a Ferrari on snow...702327023370234
