You take it out of sport, why?????

The light will be minor but they are irritating though.

My youngest loved driving in the Spyder at night, just used to stare up at the sky and stars.

I know it's not a convertible but I had a 645i Coupe with a manual gearbox. It was surprisingly good in the dry but the first generation run flats were horrible in the wet.

It was rare but it was a lovely gearbox. I bought it used whilst I was waiting for my E92 M3. I actually prefered the 645i to the M3 but that is another story.

Starting to get use to the old girl now, took her on my favourite route today and despite being wet, cold and lots of traffic I was surprised how good she is. In sport mode all the way and despite liberal dashings of the right foot she felt planted and secure (even in the damp). The back twitched a bit every now and then but nothing to alarming and once the tyres had gripped the catapult effect forward was awesome.

She has always feels a bit indecisive in corners, the front just does't want to bite like the SZ does and it has been hard to build confidence that she will hang in there but today I have found the problem - it's called entry speed, she is approaching corers much faster than either the SZ or Q4 do - a bit less right welly, set her up properly and she corners nearly as well as both of them - not bad for a roofless tourer :D

I think she can stay :)

That sounds about right. I find if you feed the power in progressively from just before the apex and whatever's left just you get her straight they stick very well. I find the font end grip on mine to be very reassuring whatever the back is doing. Mine is a bit of an animal in the wet and even in a straight line she will try to swap ends on the throttle up to 4th. Fantastic!

Mines staying too!

The coupe and Spyder are nose heavy and under steer when pushed which did surprise me but I do concur with the feeding in of the power, once they are set into a corner there is loads of grip with a 'kick' from the tail on exit....addictive!

I always found that Spyder to be up on power compared with my GS.

I chatted to MAF about this last week and the conclusion was that the GS chassis is better/more stable and thus feels slower, but in reality it's not.
