You lucky sod! I went to Etosha as well, didn't see a leopard, certainly not one with the cub. Can we see that full size please?

Wonderful photos.

You'd be lucky to see a leopard in Etosha, I think. We saw loads of zebra, antelope and birds, plus these guys (very low light and long range).

Wonderful photos.

The leopard pictured was at a reserve, Okonjima Lodge. Really nice place, but two days there cost the same as the rest of our three-week trip! It had its own large enclosure, and we took photos from a 'hide'.

The guide said on the first day that the cheetahs at the reserve were kept in a cage, so they would not stray and be killed by farmers. An American tourist said, "How cruel! How big is the cage?" and the guide replied, "Oh about 3,000 hectares." We also caught a glimpse of a leopard while out and about in the 'cage'.

Thanks for photo and the info.

I found trying to find out information a little difficult, as well as actually booking the very limited accommodation available in Namibia, as I had planned/booked it all myself.

Should we ever go back, I will certainly try and go there! (I can also recommend Greenfire Lodge, where I took my photo of the Milky Way)

Wonderful photos.

We saw 14 different cheetahs at various different places, and ranging from completely wild to virtually tame. The cheetah with a cub was at a farm somewhere near Kamenjab. They had an enclosure with 5 VERY wild cheetahs, but also two adults and a cub (and a Labrador) in the garden.

I booked the first week through Kuoni, to make it easy, and that was mostly a truck/camping tour of the south and the dunes, with two really nice local guys and a bunch of random tourists.

For the second half, I rented a pickup, and we stayed in various places, ending up in Etosha. Pre-booking was very random, and sometimes they claimed never to have heard of us when we turned up.

We were VERY excited at dawn in Okonjima.

Let's do classic hotel window views for a bit, best and worst. This one is epic worst, and it's in Croydon....

With the amount of hotels I work with, I'm sure I can better that one. Will have a look.

The one that sticks out in my mind most is a Travelodge in Dundee. It looked out onto an alley way with bins and all sorts of rubbish.
When I looked out of the window before going to bed there were a couple of junkies injecting (I assume) heroin.

Didn't get a picture but that takes some topping! :as003:
