I imagine you considered that option for about 2 nanoseconds....

Not totally clear they'd be a good match for the Cyrus but.....

Suck it and see

You might be right, it does however sound very good with a pair of these I picked up today

Where are you finding all this stuff? I need some for the kids who are just starting to think about a sound system for their home, but have even less budget than I had setting up mine....

Facebook, car boot sales at 5am, though the smartphone has killed most of the real bargains.
It takes a bit of trawling Facebook marketplace but there are bargains out there.

These speakers came from a guy who does house clearances, they were probably mint before he lobbed them in his van, they've got a few scuffs now but thankfully on the bottom

Most people have no idea how much real hifi costs

I never thought I'd see the day the Spendor S6e were passed over, I'm currently playing the dynaudio with a musical fidelity integrated amp and the base is making me feel sick

You should look for some big cabinets then :)

The current version of these speakers costs £4500, I'm highly unlikely to be upgrading them, I did have it on very loud

I'm hoping to see that Italian amp ( that's been at the menders that long I've forgotten what it is) back soon to try with them.

Not suggesting upgrading, I was suggesting something with a bigger box to feel real bass :)

I remember how all this started :D

Got fed up waiting for the Union Research amp to come back from the menders, I'm getting a feeling they're going to tell me they can't fix it, they've had it 7 months

Last week saw a mint Naim Nait 5si on facebook so I thought I'd give that a go, not particularly cheap but money back if I didn't like it

It really suits the dynaudio, the booming base of the musical fidelity has been toned down, replaced with a vocal clarity that's simply outstanding, if I do get the unison back working it'll be interesting to see how it performs against the naim

Good stuff. Mrs C was wondering if we could upgrade our system last night. I starter reeling off the prices for our speakers on ebay.

We've got very few upgrade paths left....

Rather more costly than mine too! Next ones up are going about £6k on ebay.....

What's the cost to change though, it's like buying cars, if you've got the money it doesn't matter what it costs, it's what it's worth when you sell it that matters.

It'll still be around £4k. And I'd need to sell mine. Which might take a while

Go and test some dynaudio, ( not the 35k ones) when I got this naim amp I stuck it in the rack, couldn't see which connectors were which on the back so just picked a red and a white, it worked so all good

Only I had the CD player plugged in one marked HDD out
Just changed it to CD and it's like a turbo has kicked in, I've never heard anything like it

New (used) amp collected today, Roksan Caspian M2, it blows the Naim Nait 5Si out of the water
125w into 4ohms, I can't get it past 5 without the windows shaking

facebook marketplace

The Roksan wasn't particularly cheap at £900(£1200ish on ebay) but it is mint, the remote has never been used and I could collect it , it was however owned by a very nice guy who gave me a load of cables with it because he didn't need them any more , XLR cables, RCA interconnects

this is one of them, I'm amazed what people pay for cables
