...and left behind his sleigh!

Still coming to terms with the fact that there is a red Maserati sitting in the drive way!! Here are some pics after giving her a bath.

I'll have plenty of questions over the next few days so please bear with me if you've heard them all before.

Regards,

Neil

Thanks Dad... will take it easy, I promise ;-)

In all honesty I bought this car for a break from 10/10ths driving. My 911 just begs to be driven hard and only really rewards you when you spank it!. That gets very tiring!!

The Maserati, thats a whole different way of getting from A to B.... in style. Having saidthat with 370 hp and a tail happy weight distribution, it would be all too easy to come unstuck, so I really will be taking my time learning the car's characteristics.

Besides, if I'm going too fast I can't see my reflection in the shop windows!

I was doing that myself at the weekend in Ipswich and nearly rear ended the car in front that had stopped! Doh!!!

For me it's that rumble that comes through at about 105 and just builds..... I've not sustained + 130 for any length of time yet as I've not found a suitable bit of (private?) road... Got to love these beasts.

You have a fabulous looking car there Neil great colour combo.

...:)......am sure your roads are far better suited Neil to those in the UK.......add in wet, greasy conditions and too heavy a right foot at wrong time and its 360 degree time....no fun and can happen easily.....BUT...these cars do like to be driven too......ok not quite as on throttle all the time as the 911 ....but they love to rev!!!

Vanity....... comes as standard on these cars.....;)

It's just coming into summer so Perth is dry and hot. Our roads are pretty good by most standards and I'm looking forward to the GT experience out on the winding country roads.

Thanks for all your kind words guys. This is indeed a forum that rewards membership in spades.

Gimme a break guys I've had it for all of 12 hours!! Seriously though, I've been in touch with Luuk and will try and send the throttle body off to him next month for the contactless upgrade... just to be on the safe side. I would like for the honeymoon to last as long as possible so as you do with all things female... throw enough money at it and the problem will go away. (don't tell my wife I said that).

Hi Al, I actually bought my car in Melbourne last month and have been waiting not quite so patiently whilst Zagame did the service and timing belt change (courtesy of the previous owner). I would really enjoy meeting up with other owners in Australia and i'm fortunate enough to be able to get to most parts of Oz fairly frequently, though I spend a good majority of my time in the North West. Would like to see some pics of your car.

Neil, that is lovely. I personally like the red, some say its a bit of a Ferrari colour, but stuff that it looks gorgeous!

Enjoy the honneymoon, I still have fond memories of mine.

All us on here are only too happy to help you with any problems you might have, but it sounds like you have done your research, are aware of the TB, so sounds like your on the right tracks.

If you have an Aus SportsMaserati.com meeting, let us know, you never know, I might make an appearance!

Looks great Neil. As Loz would no doubt suggest... time to order in the Nivea. Regards, Miles.

Merry Christmas Neil :)

Cracking looking car, lovely combo. Cars kept in warm climates always look like the polish up nicely.

And welcome to the forum!

He he love that Neil, must admit to the odd look at myself when passing some decent shop front Glass , but do emphasise to get used to that turbo lag before you rag it too much , slightest damp conditions unexpected turbo power kicking in throws the arrse end very quickly , many a new owner has been caught out in the first few weeks of ownership , i pray your not one of them, just be carefull loads of caked on Nivea pre long drives helps prevent you looking like a silly, grinning smug Masser owner , we can all tell each other from a distance of at least 500 yards you know , we all have too many laughter lines enjoy mate
