Its a bit more than just a dent, pulled out to overtake on wet dual carriageway, crossed recently painted white lines, back end stepped out, fishtailed twice, got it back straight, clipped kerb, onto central reservation, clipped tree at right angles to road - rest is history.
What a C**K! only had car a week!

Mike at Roberts Aerospace has recommended K and K in Portsmouth - the car is in Basingstoke at the moment anywhere in the SE corner of UK will be ok for me, I am based just of Junction 6 on M25.

Engine and mechanicals seemed undamaged - no oil or water loss, AC condensor trashed, front subframe rather bent to - all in all a very costly trip.

I take it , repair is covered under insurance , if not messaage me, i know where a whole load of front end used parts are for a 3200

By the looks of that they will write it off , so be prepared , seen them write stuff of for a lot less, wait till they give you suitable offer price not the first one, and then offer to buy the car back of them

Ouch - take it the Traction Control was off?? You need some extra brave pills to do that in the wet with a 3200.

Compared to the auto currently being sold (as a write off) this looks worse, but you might find insurer will take a view if you aren't hiring an equivalent etc etc. Having said that, the sum of OEM parts could be quite chunky, (let alone labour at an approved body shop) wonder what a new 3200 bonnet costs ex factory (

As Loz says, if they'll give you first refusal on it you should definitely try and buy it back and fix it.

Previous owner was not called Andy
Traction control was on Sport button OFF
Insurance will cover it so far - I am on LPC's at the moment to keep the costs down (Leather Personnel Carriers otherwise known as shoes) trying tokeep costs down without going to approved shop, Insurer wanted to send it to Aston Martin dealer? why? its not an Aston? Oh they said, that makes sense! doh!

That would be correct RSM if you have just bought it , Andy sold his car around 7/8 months ago give or take , was a smashing car if it was his , he came from the west country somewhere

I can see new retail £3000 plus in parts there easily without labour and paint thats just the front

To give you a rough idea , this was my Gransport when i bought it ,value and insurance payout was £34K

the damage is no where near the extent of yours and they wrote it off within days, to repair it cost me less than £3K and that was with a full glass out re spray, guaranteed colour match , and all 4 wheels refurbed and new tyres

regards loz

Well worth buying it back off them , Used 3200 parts are quite resonably priced now ,you can get all the help you need on here to get it sorted professionally and cheaply, i will add that if you buy it back it wont have an insurance catergory marker Cat D or C against it

Thanks guys for the comments and pictures
Pretty much resigned myself to the car being a write off - I've seen a whole front sub frame on ebay for £500 - £2K new, wings and bonnet available from David Askew front grille and valance good old eurospares, then its paint sundries and a lot of unbolting - oh yes and a rear wheel with a chunk out of it.
Definately worth considering repair if insurance just pay out, just keeping my fingers crossed and hope Aviva do a proper valuation, hoping for somewhere betweeen 12 and 13K
