Remembering Ryan. Please Help

Hi everyone.

My life and that of my wife Sue was thrown into turmoil losing our 18-year-old son Ryan. The void we experience every waking minute of our lives can never be filled.

As some of you are already aware on 1st October Peter (Urban Maser) is cycling from London to Valencia. It’s a 1,135-mile slogathon to raise funds to find a cure for a kidney disease which his daughter has suffered from since childhood.. At 74 he is a crazy old codger, so this is one **** of an undertaking that is worthy of our support.

He then suggested raising funds for Bone Cancer Research, which is also the forum’s charity of choice For those of you who don’t know, Ryan my son died of osteosarcoma when he was 18 years old. Osteosarcoma is a b4stard of a disease that affects the very young and very old and is tough to cure. The Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT) is dedicated to finding a cure, and if it stops another family going through what we went through, trust me it’s worth every penny. In addition, there might be an event coming up that any petrol head would love to attend, so watch out for that.

I hate asking for donations but as Urby says doing a ride of this magnitude and not raising money for charity would be criminal.

If you are wishing to donate this is the link to the JustGiving page: -

https://www.justgiving.com/page/ian-dover

The ride is self-funded so every penny of your donation would go to the charity.
A word of warning, Just Giving have a tip box which annoyingly defaults to some ludicrous percentage of the donation. Directly below the tip box slider in small print is a link where you can set the tip to anything, even 0%.

Please do something amazing and help find a cure. At the very least we are seeking a more positive outcome for the many children and adults battling this horrible disease which kills so many.

Thank you on behalf of my wife Sue and me, and of course Peter who has the daunting task of making it to Valencia in one piece.

Benny

Cycling to Valencia? Peter, I always held you in the highest personal regard, but it's abundantly clear that you're deranged. On the upside, you'll get there faster than if you drove. On that basis alone you're well worth a few quid of anyone's money. Good luck, and take care of your bottom.

Hi guys. I am likely to be ‘off grid’ for the next 10-12 days as it’s time for another visit to the Gallipoli battlefields. I’m taking the ‘battle wagon’ and meeting a couple of mates in Istanbul on Friday. If you have any queries, ping Pete, or message me after the 13th August. Have fun you crazy kids.

Before I go, I’d just like to thank everyone who has donated. You really are a great bunch of guys and guyesses. The sooner we can beat this evil disease in all its guises, the better. Take care out there.

100% agreed, fella. Filthy bloody vermin of a disease.

I must comment, by the way, that your recent affable demeanour convinces me that you've started to sit down to pish. Well done!

Grrrrrr…… must resist the urge…… must resist the urge…….
Are you using HRT patches, Benny? It's the only explanation!

Regardless, have a good trip, fella. That Bimmer must be up to about a quarter of a million miles by now.
