Thanks all - there are lots of recommendations that are already familiar to me and some bands I have never heard of.
@jonny - "No One's Fault But Your Own" by The Penny Black Remedy is a strange one. I started thinking ska but then it went a bit folk and then I decided I really didn't know what to call it. Super upbeat tempo and interesting lyrics will result in further listening. Thanks
There are also lots of bands I have previously dismissed as not really liking. On further listening, it seems nothing has changed for a few (TheThe, RHCP and Daft Punk) but I was pleasantly surprised by the Stone Roses and Manic Street Preachers (who I saw support Bon Jovi last year and thought were great live).
Can't wait to listen to more bands I haven't heard of today. Have set myself up this morning with a couple of early ZZ Top albums (just brilliant - you must listen if you associate ZZ Top with Afterburner era) and about to spin Nirvana.
