Another sports gts for sale
Looks nice albeit expensive

Ti's an old car for that money, specially as a newer one has turned up

I'm sure I saw this one advertised last year

Yes I don't like splashing cash on old ones when the newer ones ( and of same price) have more toys and gadgets.
I do like my gadgets

So glad I decided my QP is a keeper. Nobody in their right mind would buy mine!

Joking aside, history shows that any QP can take quite some time to sell. Several here had impeccable history and were well know to the forum members but hung around for months.
Any seller might "get lucky" and sell to a buyer unfamiliar with Maserati, but seems improbable for private sale.

I did wonder why it has been on sale for so long! Shame.
I've been surprised recently how many QPs are listed privately 'in excellent condition' and then go to auction for an 'honest listing' and are advertised with dents, broken buttons, broken door inlays, damaged seats, damaged dashboards and so on. I'm also surprised at how many owners neglect servicing their QPs? Lots of them are missing large chunks of service history, or have been serviced at the 'local garage' as opposed to a specialist. Bizarre really owning such a nice car and not looking after it....

You have to be a certain kind of lunatic to own an a QP and maintain it properly.
It's no appreciating asset, and the downside of no maintenance it is writing off what little you paid for it in the first place. Cutting your losses doesn't cost you that much compared with ongoing maintenance unfortunately!

For some, owning a Maserati is to display wealth, but actually when the see the prices displayed for service, then inevitably the local garage will fill the void.

Being in the trade, I know I could do it cheaper myself as I've seen the horror stories of days gone by but I've stepped up in the world of cars and chose to use my local independent specialist as when the day comes, and it will, where I part company, I hope that the one who comes to look at my baby, will be just as OCD as me and look for the paperwork and TLC given.

I chose not to use main dealer for servicing as I know my baby won't be looked after correctly, it's old.

I'm not that great financially as I will sweat if there a bill coming, but I can stack the deck in my favour and ensure good regular maintance, but yes my fingers are crossed I won't lie.

Dickey supplied me a lovely car so I was off to a good start, and hopefully finances permitting, I will care for my baby with love.

My next goal in the future is the new Granturismo, used version of course :shy1: :saifi::broke:, but will it happen, who knows, but a looked after QP GTS will help as hopefully it's a future classic in the face of the eco warrior #@*!

Not sure this in itself counts as tired in my opinion.
The section at the back is really easy to nick and once it’s happened there is no going back.

Not saying it's the case here, but I get it. There's excellent in an absolute sense (concours, anyone) and excellent (given it's a car of some years and will inevitably have suffered some wear and tear). Everyone will have a different level of comfort in what they want to spend to keep a car in 'acceptable' condition (to them), and I do agree with @Italiano , you may need to be a special kind of mad :)

It must be off putting though when you have higher expectations.

If someone can tell me where I can buy replacement bits for that rear section in the correct colour that would be great.

I do agree it all comes down to expectations, but it’s a car which is over 10 years old in a 4 door format which has quite fragile internal finishes in places.

I’m not saying it doesn’t have an effect on the price but to brand it as tired for those elements (almost like the sticky plastic) seems a bit harsh.

Maybe that was just an example of the overall feel where lots of things mounted up to make it feel tired to them when they viewed the car.
