Hi Mark,
I'm the owner of the car, I bought it with the intention of keeping it 12 months, I've owned it 18 months now. I've never tracked it and i havent 'blown' the diff... I bought it from a storage facility at Dunsfold, it had a slight whine on the diff. I've replaced the diff and alls good. The car has good history and drives without fault. Your comments are incorrect and unfair as you've never met me or spoke to me about my cars, the way I keep them or even the Maserati that I bought as a bucket thing as I've always hankered after one. If you would like to chat with me personally to get the full facts please call me....I don't bite.

Kind Regards Ronan

I simply created what I thought was a accurate summary from your own Facebook posts. My post was intended as entertainment, not a serious appraisal, which is why I did not really express an opinion, nor include your name, a link, or the searchable text of the reg.

I'm sorry that I misinterpreted your reason for being at Dunsfold, and (apparently) your reasons for needing a replacement diff (I don't think I said anything about 'blown', but I can see how someone else might see it that way.)

I don't really think we need to chat, as I don't really need the full facts. I'm happy to accept what you have written, and I'm not in the market. Good luck with the sale. The QP GT S seems to be in demand at the moment, and as others have said (and I have written elsewhere) a well-maintained high-mileage car is often better than an underused one.

Current owner has had it only 14 months. Would need to check the maintenance history carefully. And is the suspension really as quiet as he says?
Hi Alan,

The suspension is as quiet as I said. The car had a full health check and subframe inspection in Jan 2022. I bought the car beginning of Feb 2022.

Hi,

It would be good to find one at £14k and good luck in finding one that isnt a nail. Being an engineer I tend to buy what I see before me with its history and not rely on numbers recorded on the dash and hope that the low miles will guarantee me trouble free motoring...

Hi Alan,

I've actually owned the car 18 months, I bought it early Feb 2022. Alls quiet on the subframe and suspension front. The car drives quietly and without fault. My ocd wouldn't allow me to own and or drive it any other way....lol

I'm pretty sure it's been for sale for 10 of those months too lol
Alex?

I bought the car early Feb 2022. I have owned the car 18 months now, I only intended to keep it for 12 months as a bucket wish. I first advertised it June 2023 I believe along with my Shelby Mustang which sold to the first person to view for the asking price. I'm actually enjoying the Maserati hence I've kept it longer (along with the fact that no-ones bought it) So it's only been for sale 3 months not 10 months..... I'm sure a genuine petrol head like myself will end up buying it and not be put off by numbers on a clock which the average basic layman can't get past....

The seller diagnosed it as a slight whine from high mileage - 120k. Apparently grit in the oil when he changed the oil. It seems he committed to buy a 37k replacement but of course you don’t know if he actually replaced it.
Tallman,

Oh yes I did....still have the original diff if you or the new owner would like to see it.... I tried oil change with additive but no joy hence replaced as I stated...

BX10HND is the original plate it's not been added. I have a private plate on the car now.
Hi Ronan and welcome
My. comment was "adding reg number to the forum". which allows text search. The forum unlikely to search inside images. All to help prospective buyers to see any useful chats.
Have no idea what plates are added or removed from any actual cars. None of my business of course.
Hope you are enjoying the car, best four door made IMHO. Good luck if you are selling

Ronan

Happy to correct my original post.

This used to be a place for car chat and poking fun at each other based on predilection for "unreliable Italian beauties".

Hi thank you,

Unfortunately I joined this forum (member and administrator of a few) because I was annoyed about the childish false 'banter' about my car and myself. I thought the Maserati forums would be a little more thoughtful and mature but I've found it isn't. How anyone thinks it's humorous to infer a car has been thrashed and damaged on a track is when it hasn't and when corrected still hasn't removed the false misleading comment is beyond me. Hopefully admin will take a look and see my point. Some idiot on Facebook put a link to the false negative comments so I don't think that will help my sale. I've owned the car without issue (apart from the diff) which I knew when bought. So far I'm finding the majority on here unhelpful, unkind and thoughtless. Hoping I'm proved wrong with my thoughts...

Kind Regards Ronan

Hi Ronan

One of the problems with 'social' websites is that they become playgrounds for keyboard warriors, most of whom are harmless though perhaps unthinking at times. This forum has had its fair share of trolls over the years, both resident and passing, so newbies might be viewed with a degree of cynicism. There's frequently a warped sense of humour on display as well; it's not meant to be offensive, and in all honesty it can be a welcome break from the woke nonsense that surrounds us these days.

Please don't tar everyone on this forum with the same brush. The majority of us are relatively sane, have a genuine passion for the marque, and think before we post (or very often don't post).

From one engineer to another, why not put a comprehensive write-up and pics on the forum? It will help to dispel any myths about the car, and genuinely interested parties can then make their own minds up.

@RJS If you are unhappy with any posts on the forum, you can also use the report button and we will be happy to make a judgement on your specific concerns.

Posts are opinions / humour / etc rather than facts as with most social type sites and with the membership being generally good eggs, they will not be happy if they have caused you trouble.

@Phil H made an excellent point, why not set the record straight with a post on the for sale section?

Hi Zep,

Thanks for the reply much appreciated. The only post I'm unhappy with really is Marks attempt at humour at my expense while I'm trying to sell my car. If it were correct factual then fair play but it isn't. Considering someone has put a link on the Internet direct to it and potential buyers without humour could shy away. I've joined this forum because of the post. I would appreciate it if Mark would either correct his thoughts to facts or just remove the post as it really is unhelpful and unnecessary or failing that maybe admin could take a look. I will be staying here as another Maserati in the near future is almost a definite. Thoroughly enjoyed, enjoying the GTS but I have other scratches to itch and life's short...

Kind Regards Ronan

I made the post because I am one of the Moderators and I see that @MarkMas has corrected the record.

Although it’s shame you arrived here by the route you have I am sure you will find it is useful and amusing place should you hang around.

Thank you Zep,

I don't think many others would have appreciated the comments about their own car whilst trying to sell. I'm saving up for an A6G so I think I'll be here for quite a while... I'm normally a silent participant but felt the need to speak out..

Cheers Ronan

As I said above, the members are good eggs and would not have wanted to make your life difficult. You have raised your concerns and adjustments have been made.

You, and anyone else reading this, are very welcome to contact the mods directly to raise any concerns if there is reticence about doing it in thread itself.

Having said all of that, this is a useful thread around QPVs for sale, and so now the adjustments have been made it needs to return to that purpose.

Good luck with saving for an A6G. If I ever sell mine I’ll give you first refusal ;)

No I didn't...so looks like you thought wrong...
My comment was a light hearted one based on previous comments.
I did think it was odd, hence the question mark.
Anyway, GLWTS, you could always add ‘never raced or rallied’ to the advert to be sure :) !

Only joking!
