Only had a very quick scan, but looks like an excellent document. Thanks for posting!

That give me something to read later :thumb3:

I came across this official Maserati doc which details the various additions/changes to the QP & GT Model years from 2009 to 2012 which I thought might be of interest to some here - it seems the system only allows attachments to 5Mb so I had to zip it - Mods/Techs can't this be increased? We are in the GB era now ;)

Just post a link to a Dropbox. It seems pointless the clog up the database to have it embedded in the thread. Happy to do it for you if you want.

No problem, I've removed the file and put in a link - is there no dedicated place for docs/files so members can easily search/download? I was thinking of manuals etc. that most members would love to get their hands on - maybe a dedicated thread or section of SM?

Not really. The search box is limited and threads invariably get messy (I am pointing at the E10 threads) with people commenting etc.

A good idea would be to create a Dropbox or Sharepoint or something like that with a sensible file structure. If anyone wants to throw themselves in front of that bus, apply below ;)

It's amazing that no one's thought if it before!

Interesting to read some changes. New temprature sensors/ecu/connector. Newer seat control unit. Newer power steering pump.

Some stuff to get of a breaker and upgrade on my oldie once time comes.

Hi from new member here, and hopefully Maserati-owner in not too long time :) An interesting read for me this is as i am considering the QPV S 11 or the QPV S 12. Mu question is- in wikipedia it says that F136 YL(QPV S 11 and the F136 YR(QPV S 12) has the reed valves? But does this fit with the "every car with engine number after 148697 has anti-back flow oil valves"? And in this PDF it says that only MY12 has the reed valves. And for that matter is the reed valves and anti-back oil valves the same thing?

And one other thing. The tmps seems to be a problem on these cars, but the pdf claims there is an update from 1.5 edition tpms to 2.5 tmps. Does this fix the hazzle? Assembly number 57700 and onwards for the QP has the 2.5 editon.

Btw I am considering one 2012 S from Germany with 45k km and yellow details or a Suisse 2011 S with 55k km :)

Welcome to the forum. I think you are confusing the variator issue with the engine update that introduced what was first called "Lamelar Valves" in the MC Stradale.

The variation issue was fixed prior to this update and involved a modification to the bearing cap on the cylinder head, this affected engines produced between 2007 and 2009. The reed valves / lamellar valves (I think the term anti-backflow is incorrect here) are installed in the lower crankcase to reduce windage losses around the crankshaft and are only related to improving performance, not to do with stopping rattling at start up.

Thank you for fast reply! So every engine after 148697 will not whatsoever have a problem with rattle then? :) That means cars from late 09 and onwards? Just try to do my research before buying one. I do care more about these issues, service history and maintenance than rims, colour and so on. So these topics are of great interest for me!

It’s fair to say that engines with a number higher than this will not suffer with this issue particular issue. I can’t guarantee there won’t be something else, but it is very rare.
