Is it my imagination - or has this QPV GTS now gone from the Dick Lovett sight? Would love to see if Inspector Grace could provide any insight on the price achieved!

I can't find it on there.
Not sure Dick Lovett have profiled me right, somehow... a white Cayenne!?

It seems to have gone, but 'on trend' (as far as the forum goes) they do have this:

Perhaps an upgrade for Catman?

Good to see it sold, didn’t think it would hang around. They’ll have got £45k for it or they wouldn’t have let it go.

Good money - encourages me to keep mine in tip top condition!

I know it caused a stir when it was listed amongst some folk but value was relative. It was a 2013, 2 or 3 years newer than the vast majority of them, and 22k miles, around half of what most of them have done. How many miles has your car done @Devonboy? And what year?

2010 35k miles and I bought it 3years ago at 22k miles so it was an interesting comparison - might have to drive it a bit less!

Wonder if hairpin company are wishing they’d priced it higher when they sold it 18 months or so ago?! Was about 35k ish I believe. At 45-48k now it’s a fair old jump in value in a short space of time. Less than a month to sell too, in a full lockdown.

Time and time again with nice cars if you use it then it collapses in value and if you don't it might go up in value after having dropped by a half to three quarters in the first few years - ok if you are the second or third owner. It's great that this means some of these cars are preserved for 10+ years into the future but just a shame that it means you have to decide early on whether you are buying a car or a piece of art as an investment.

I tend to agree BB. It someone paid 45k for this then they will need to do feck all miles in it as they will lose a **** load of money surely. One for a collector. Don’t see the be point if you don’t drive an enjoy. You don’t need to pay 45k to get a good one of these and enjoy it and still not lose your shirt at resale time. Unless of course they are all worth 40 to 45k now that is.

I think I’d go down the use it route.
If you had it 3 years, and actually got some decent enjoyment out of it, say 6k miles a year, it would still only be on 40k miles.
Might still be worth 30-35k. Pay the same 45k for a new bmw and it will be worth a lot less than that after 3 years, probably only 20k.
That leaves you 10-15k for extra fuel and maintenance........so probably not quite enough actually!

Still, better than just letting it sit there, not experiencing it. You don’t want to be sat in a rocking chair as a crusty old man, showing your grandkids a picture of the Maserati you used to own years ago and have this conversation;

Them ‘Wow grandad, that’s amazing, a petrol engine, a Ferrari V8, what was it like!?’
You ‘don’t know, I was too scared to use it unless it lost some value’
Them ‘What??!, bye bye grandad’
