Peter, did you do your initial training at Bruche? I was in Lancashire before I banged out and went working for Auntie Betty.

1/91 intake...and you?

Note that Sedgley Park also closed (GMP) training centre.

Also did lots of training at Hutton as I was a special for a few years and my Sister trained there too before she moved to OZ.

Did you have to use those huge VCR Shoulder mounted cameras at college?...also the old fleet of bangers they had to practice pulling cars over...Alegro Mk 1 Escort and Cortinas...happy days.

Ah, you youngster! I spent 10 months at Hutton Hole on a residential Cadet course from Sept 78 until July 79. Then a cadet at Burnley until November 80. Security at HQ until March 81 and then Bruche. I left for pastures new in April 84. I would have become a 'black rat' if I'd stayed as I had no interest in being a 'C*nt In Disguise'. Leaving was the best thing I ever did but I'm so glad I did it. What's your sisters name?

Wendy...She worked in the drug squad in Blackpool before she left for Oz About eight years back. She is younger still and was based in Burnley where she also did child protection after her probation period.

Lol

Matt, I would not be in a rush to contact dvla. The police may not have passed info on and all you will do is alert the dvla.....just a thought

That was my thought too!

Letter to DVLA:

"Hello, Conaero here, I wish to inform you I have an illegally spaced number plate, and a copper spoke to me about it".

...not convinced it's a winner, personally.

Matt; swap the number to the Alfa and keep the plates; the local plod will be looking for a Black Mas not a red Alfa... As you know I have mine spaced to suit and in 5 years and 37k I've only provoked one drive-by comment from a Traffic cop over in Wimbledon because I drove up the inside of a big line of traffic they were sat in when the bus lane was not in force!

There is a car local to us (gold 20 year old BMW) that has T1TSX and as long as I can remember he has added an extra X at the front (very illegal) so he then spaces that to read: X T1TS X As you can imagine the local plod and DVLA have regular words so every now and then his legal plates make an appearance for a month or so. It must have been there for 25 years on various BMW's.

Sorry, I personally have no time for the police, locally anyway, I don't think they are fit for purpose and therefore cost too much..!!
