I remember the RAC in 1996 when Stig took a 2wd Skoda to third overall in the snow. He was actually leading the event on day two but as the snow cleared the 4wd cars caught up!

Had to put a trusty and faithful bit of kit up as workshop Art as no longer functions.
My Father gave it to me in 78 and it's been around the World.
Rarely used these days but I will get another.

I still have no idea what it is. It looks like a prop from Blake’s Seven.

It's a strobe to check the timing of cars with distributors. (Basically it flashes a bright light in time with the spark so you can look at where your timing marks are. Persistence of vision and all that stuff)

Although it does, very much, look like something that Cally would carry

Not specifically for distributors. Will work on any ignition system that has HT leads as opposed to coil on plug.
