I used to work with a South African who would comment on seeing such beautifully rare meat ' We have surgeons in SA who could resuscitate that!' . I love the token salad!

That cut of beef from that breed of cow is absolutely fantastic. I had a good look when we got back, but couldn't find a supplier in the UK. If anyone knows of one, please share.

Is it a T bone or a tomahawk or something else? Anyway fantastic steak in Italy. I'm sure @Zep would know.
And soooooo much truffle!!!! Had it with almost everything I ate!

I think it's "just" a standard T-bone - but it's from a breed of cow called "Chianina" and I think that's what makes all the difference.
