Is that a Davrian? Mate of mine has/had one. He binned it on one of the D roads on the way to Le Mans years ago. He's still got the remains but has never got round to rebuilding it.

Actually I’m not. Got it the wrong way round. B8 is the BMW engined one. The B12 had a Repco engine.

Although Chevrons were very popular and pretty good back in the 70's I didn't know that one had been rallied, though not successfully. A quick Google search reveals that car 29 was a dnf:

Rippon Vineyard on Lake Wanaka, South Island.
Went to see some friends there. Awesome trip, glaciers, pukekos, penguins, bell birds, ANZAC Day in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere. Possibly the friendliest country in the world.

I was reading a book about a British Army Chaplin who was at Gallipoli. He went back many years later and when he got off the boat there was a welcoming committee led by the local General and some of the Turkish veterans including a Regiment’s CO. Apparently the conditions there, especially disease, were so bad the Turks considered you a hero irrespective of the side you had fought on.
