Does the extra RON make any difference...thought these engines could detect the difference and adjust accordingly?

Getting pricier here too....but always nip across the border.......saves a bit ....:)

I also always put in the more expensive fuel...cleans out the inside so using cheaper fuel is a false eceonomy....

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/petrol-bills-calculator

Used this site......

Put in 10K a year.....@18 miles per gallon........at £1.31 a litre.

Works out as .................£3308.48 cost p.a

Made up £1488.82 Duty.......and .........£551.41 VAT............actual cost of petrol £1268.25

So both taxes equate to 62% of total cost....thought it was more...........currently government takes in £30 billion on fuel taxes...so if petrol goes up to £2 a litre.....paying £5051 p.a ... would bring in an extra £20 billion....!!!!!

This sort of set up sounds really fair........................................................NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disgusting!! Cyprus is €1 a litre and thats from bp out there....and in europe.....

So a mass non use of pertol/diesel engines and blockade by jo public and businesses , for a week or month could deny the chancellor a fair old whack of revenue

Might persuade them to take a little less duty in the long term , but could i not drive the massers/van and have a week or month off , if only it was guaranteed duty would be reduced i would do it ,

Seems all the time we do nothing and accept it , because we have to make a living , there gonna keep on piling it on

regards loz
