The show was always going to be too short to do anything in depth. It was a whistle-stop tour around the various motoring centres of Italy to get a feel of things. I enjoyed it.

The QP in Turin. It is where they are made. Would it have been better having him visiting Maserati in Modena in an Alfa 4c?

We enjoyed it as well. In fact an insane plan for the celebration of my 50th has been hatched :D

Any plan involving cars and a trip to Italy is sensible. That's the excuse I'm using for the three week jaunt around Northern Italy and Swiss mountain passes later in the year anyway.

Seems a fair way of looking at it. Mrs Catman required precisely zero persuasion as well :D

That's always a bonus. M is a bit nervous. Partly of the long drive through France and partly about remembering the Italian we've been learning.

One week to departure for us - panic setting in that I may have forgotten something. Had a trial luggage fitting yesterday but it didn't go well.

I recently did a little tour, took in a few of the places he visited. Unfortunately was in a friends Audi Q3, not the Maser :(
Anyway, flew into Geneva to meet said friend, drove from there to Turin. Stayed in the Lingotto hotel, took a walk on the rooftop, which was brilliant. Then took in the National Auto museum, which is a stones throw from the Lingotto hotel. Then headed down to the family place south of Rome.
On the way back up stayed in a lovely hotel in Maranello, did the museum. Then on heading back north took in the Alfa museum at Arese, which was great.

Next one is Germany, that will be good too, enjoyed this one but again PH is annoying
Have to say I quite enjoyed the programme. Not a definitive look at all things Italian but got a flavour of the cars and the country and find him less than annoying than some of the current TG team tbh.

Luckily I think the Ghibli has the largest boot I've seen on anything but a Lincoln Town Car so I could cram a lot in there. Not sure about the next trip though as we are going for three weeks. There might be pressure to try and squeeze another case in there.

As long as there is nothing on the back seats and the boot shuts I'm happy :)

I'm not overly bothered about the Germany programme, which is good as I'll be away. I am looking forward to the French one though. Though that will be on catchup because I don't think we'll be back before the programme starts.
