Reversed the GTS onto some grass near a mates and there was a tree stump protruding which has ripped the oil cooler pipes off!

So gutted with myself right now!

Sorry to read this, that oil cooler is in a ridiculous position very vulnerable not
only on uneven ground but also stone and debris from the road.

I am guessing you will be able to fix this one yourself and so it shouldn't be too costly.

Ouch...sorry to hear & see that Phil. Don't be too ******* yourself. I'm sure we have all done silly things like this. Life is too short.

Hopefully it hasn't done any or too much damage & won't be too wallet damaging to fix.

Oh dear sorry to see, hopefully a cheap fix, hopefully they are cheap from the dealer ?

I ripped my rear bumper off my M3 on a kerb doing a 3 point turn, bloody annoying

It's coming off being sent to local welders who specialize in oil coolers and having the pipes welded back on.

Ouch - thats so unlucky / annoying.

I noticed a small patch of fluid from my underside today when I reversed on the drive.

When I came back it had dried / evaporated.
Does that sound worrying?
My underside scrapes a bit on the drive as its uneven - and now seeing the position of that it worries me.
could it be damaged by mild but repeated scraping - or is that not the lowest part of the car?

When I first got the car and walked under it on a ramp it struck me that the f1 cooler was exposed to the elements and very lacking in any form of protection. Looks like I had every reason to be concerned.

The grass section is flat but the tree trunk protrudes by a few inches. The council felled the tree 3 years ago and in my opinion it is a major hazard not only for cars but pedestrians too.

Feel for you Phil but that stump is not a hazard unless your oil cooler is unprotected or you can't lift your feet higher than 2"! Lol

No it sounds like water condensing from the aircon. Just about any fluid from a car won't evaporate without trace, really
